I like a bunch of jazz and I really like jazz influenced music, but I think some is quite aimless. I think sometimes technical minded people get Into jazz and use it as a vehicle for scales and arpeggios without expressing any real personality within that.

Well, I think there's some skill in doing it well, but a lot of people don't bother to be good at it and are basically no better than putting an iPod on shuffle, and they are usually the ones who need to let everyone know they are a DJ.

Yeah I have to add, great service, really friendly staff, loads of variety in such a small shop. I don't like playing in a store because no matter what you do, you either suck, or you're a show off or you're playing a cliche, but those guys will let you take it home and thoroughly get used to it, and if it doesn't suit you, and you haven't destroyed it, you can bring it back to the shop up to a month later I think! Great shop.

I think their brand new bass prices are very reasonable, first time I went I checked on line assuming I would find cheaper but it wasn't the case. Second hand basses though, you can't beat basschat!

I just bought the blue sterling SB14, Super nice guy, I picked it up myself had a play on it, had a chat about basses and his lovely wife made me a cup of coffee!!
