  1. I had an SR500. I didn't weigh it, but it was noticeably lighter than any of my Jazz style basses by a significant margin. Also the most ergonomic bass i have ever played. Just didn't look right on an old fart.
  2. Lovely. I’ve got the Teac CD player/tuner/amp similar to this. Fantastic sounding, and I don’t think I’ll part with it. Hopefully a discerning consumer will see this and buy it. GLWTS.
  3. I love that, I really do.
  4. Tasty playing. Makes me want a sixer. I don’t need a sixer.
  5. This is great delay pedal, but I don’t need it any more. I think fifty smackers posted is fair but if you disagree let me know.
  6. I used to use a Tech21 Fly Rig 5 to record guitar into Logic. Gave excellent results, and better than the rather scratchy sounding amp plugins provided in Logic.
  7. Aldi sometimes have those easy-out things, a set for very little money. Try their website.
  8. These basses have loads of bite. It takes a while to get used to the possibilities via the tone controls. Mine has more wallop than anything other bass I own, and it is completely standard. Personally, I cut the treble and boost the bass on this guitar. Try adjusting the pickup height, by the way, that can make a big difference.
  9. Ah, McCormacks. The good old days. Old Mr mac sitting on a stool when you went in, watching, always watching....
  10. I’ve got one of these. Brilliant bass, you will enjoy, I hope.
  11. The preset buttons on mine stopped working. I opened it up, which was easy to do, and gave everything a good clean. Solved.
  12. Cripes, super bargain. These are really great basses. I almost want to buy this to rescue the poor wee thing!
  13. Have you tried seeing how they appear in the Audio/Midi setup app? I think you should be able to create a composite device from both of them.
  14. Just received a very nice Aircell strap from Paul. Superfast delivery, good value and gentlemanly civility. Thank you, Paul.
  15. What does it weigh? They seem to vary considerably, according to the MarkBass website.
  16. I use my HX FX just by itself. As I did my Zoom. My basic needs are: compression, envelope filter, octaver, and chorus. then I have another patch for funk, where most of the above are switched on, and a couple of others that I only really fiddle with at home. These tend to be pitch shifters, harmonisers, and delays. I’m looking to make synths pads and leads. Like that famous Pat Metheny lead sound. Hope this helps.
  17. I've had several Zoom multi fx units over the years, both for guitar and bass. I think they are very good value for the money, especially if you like ease of operation. I sold my Zoom B3n simply because I had GAS, and wanted to try something else. I currently have a Line 6 HX Effects, which I think is very good indeed. In my experience, one just gets used to the necessary methodology for using each one. It doesn't take long. Plus, editor software makes the creating and storing of settings very easy. BTW, I chose the HX Effects over the HX Stomp because it already has six foot switches, and so doesn't require an additional foot switch for scrolling etc. Also, I didn't need the amp sims. I think a lot of it is down to whether you like the effects sounds that each manufacturer offers.
