  1. I've had several Zoom multi fx units over the years, both for guitar and bass. I think they are very good value for the money, especially if you like ease of operation. I sold my Zoom B3n simply because I had GAS, and wanted to try something else. I currently have a Line 6 HX Effects, which I think is very good indeed. In my experience, one just gets used to the necessary methodology for using each one. It doesn't take long. Plus, editor software makes the creating and storing of settings very easy. BTW, I chose the HX Effects over the HX Stomp because it already has six foot switches, and so doesn't require an additional foot switch for scrolling etc. Also, I didn't need the amp sims. I think a lot of it is down to whether you like the effects sounds that each manufacturer offers.
  2. That's interesting. I didn't know that. When I took the pickups out of mine, the bottom of the routs didn't look like the top body wood.
  3. I had one of these. It was really very good, especially after I had deepened the nut slots enough. Mine was quite heavy too, but a good strap took care of that. I think the wood grain is actually a fotoflame type thing, but it was really well done and indistinguishable from the real thing.
  4. I just took delivery of some strings from Mark. His price was reasonable and they arrived almost before I even thought of buying them. Extraordinary. Thanks, Mark.
  5. Try AliExpress for the replacement bridge. Beware of the string spacing. You will need to use the old saddles from the big plate bridge.
  6. I just sprayed a Jazz Bass with auto rattle cans. I wish I had known about that handle thingy that Skank mentions, it would have really helped.
  7. I get good results with Liberon Finishing Oil. Apply very thinly and allow to dry well between or it can remain sticky feeling for a long time. Quite reasonably priced.
  8. In the Combo Head there is a jumper inside the amp which routes the fx loop signal pre or post EQ. I wonder if this applies to other MarkBass amps. There is an article somewhere on the web, with pix, of how to do this. I have swapped back and forth many times. It is super easy to do. Personally I didn’t think it made much difference.
  9. It is indeed tacky, and that’s why I like it! So last century.
  10. I have two BBG4's (se my sig pic). They are great, and I have often coveted a fiver, especially with the amber photoflame.
