  1. WHAT?? Marcus there is no hope for you boy! Status Kingbass hummmmm, I had the pleasure of the company of a retroglide for a very short while and it is a mega bass, Matt the owner at the time found it highly amusing that I busted out my pick and played the boys are back in town on it, not a single slap from me !! Good luck mate.
  2. Captain Lockheed and the Starfigthers! Warriors, and many more, The amazing guitar playing of Huw Lloyd Langton (F451 in particular), Dave Brocks sonic experiments, Lemmy ..... Hawkwind brings back lost memories (I think lol) of times on the floor of my mate's flat in a purple haze, for many days. NO more thankfully lol!
  3. SBMM stuff is very good no doubt, also if your man doesn't want to spend to much money, but wants a great bass try looking at some of the stuff by Vintage and the Bass collection gear from the bass centre, they both offer great "bang for the buck" as my Americans friends say.
  4. Great little venue that, if its the one in Cotteridge? owned by mad irishman Tom iirc, we played their a lot, headlined a couple of shows for him to, happy days. Might try and make this.
  5. I like the fact that he had built a band around him, and he is out there playing live, he is not the worst by a long way. Not impressed with Marta on that vid (and I am a fan ) its one of the easiest things I have seen her play and that is the worst I have seen and heard her play, to me it was just "flat" maybe the Ray5 not a good choice or her sound not a good choice, it lacked imho.
  6. I loved the sound of them had three in total, a combo, superfly and mag head and cabs and all three let me down badly, I have used the term crashdown before myself, for me it was because they proved to be rather poor, on not one, nor two but three times, I like to try and give things a go but enough was enough.... not a hater, but no way a fan, nor would I recommend them, imho.
  7. None here, found it to be some the very best around, far superior to me old crashdown that was a total crock, as they are imho. My gear was going in and out the van three or fours days a week to, so EBS very good quality there. I did have a problems with a markbass cab I had for a while, which really surprised me as their gear is usually top notch to, sorry to hear aboput your issues mate, still under any warranty?
  8. Remember to breath! Good for you man, once the gig kicks in you will love it I am sure, good luck and go have a ball mate.
  9. Them Shuker basses are mighty fine, now a light weight option, this does give one a spot of gas, even more than a ding, this the year of boutique bass for me. Shuker damn fine quality and I really like the headstock design to. Nice one JJB.
  10. It's nice to hear a bit of slap that adds a little groove riff to a tune rather than turn into a mindless spank. Sounds like a P to me to.
  11. That Prs looks so tiny in that picture with that bald gentleman lol
  12. That song he did, locked out of heaven is a superb pop song, Bruno does have a bit about him.
  13. Maiden and Lizzy has such great tour posters I don't have enough walls for them all!
  14. For £2K i would be saving up a bit more and that Super J making man Mr Dingwall would be very near top of my list, stunning!
  15. Jon Gomm played on a local open mike night that my band headlined a few years ago now, and that boy was a bit special then. He has come a long way and well deserves it, a top man.
  16. I would take a break, at the end of the day we "Play" music, when play isn't fun, stop. Recharge, learn new stuff, seek out new people to play/jam with, it could well work out to be the very best thing for you.
  17. One thing re "modded" bass that has always surprised me with Fender is that they( Fender) don't make a model with what must be one of the all time classic mods to a P bass, they don't have a Precision with a Jazz neck and an added Jazz pickup (all passive) with a top mounted jack socket in their range.
  18. I was going to post to Marcus that selling my Ray 4hh in black with chrome plate made me fell bad, I see your list Steve, 66 slab ouch! 53P £995, yep you win! I feel your pain,
