1. Won't you hold my hand (now) King (the class act Mr T Wall esq on bass) I'll Be waiting Talisman or Cochise Audioslave.
2. It's not the Blockhead, this is the "tribute" model to Norman's Precision bass (paddy) hence its a Rhythm stick. great machine.
3. New bass for me, Bass collection Rhythm stick, big thanks to Mr Moorhouse at the bass centre for making this happen and the Good lady for paying. This is one a handsome looking and great playing bass guitar, pics to follow when I can stop playing (and eating and drinking and.....) Merry Christmas to all
4. He sure could pull a mean face old Joe, I for one loved his Little help from my friends, RIP
5. A lot of the 70's/80's American cop (and other) shows have got some real serious bass going down in them for sure, Gotcha always springs to mind, love them all....baby lol
6. Nice one man, I will raise a glass to you tonight for your farewell gig. rock on.
7. Some one who plays music professionally, simple as, nothing to do with skill level. We all have seen the good and the bad and the "pro's"
8. Great player, great playing,Henrik has a massive amount of skill and fair play to him and the band, however for all their skills the don't "say" anything to me, but respect to them.
9. Talisman, and more Talisman, and for good measure a bit more Talisman, Marcel Jacob Is one mighty fine Bass Guitarist and sadly missed.
10. Alway carry a spare bass, if you are a bass player and you can't play because you don't have a bass to play, its your fault not the other band bass player or who ever etc, be prepared. imho.
11. I have never had a problem with how EB do things to be honest, I do appreciate the frustration from the OP though, as I have always wanted an all white ala Larry Graham style (board and all etc) Stingray, sadly no.
12. I have no problem with it, I just got back from Lanzarote and watched a top notch band play and they had a music stand, don't agree about the professional thing either, they are no rules only that which works for you, as we are playing.
13. Thin Lizzy (no surprise from me i guess) Rosalie, the rock song only Phil could turn it into.
14. You Sir are a brave man, I did this for a very short time, couldn't really get on with it, as at some point it will cause a problem and you let some one down, the first come first served rule is a good way to go (except for a pro...etc) I do wish you luck, from what you have posted there is a good deal of room to be flexible, but be prepared for fall out, its inevitable at some point.
15. Acca Dacca at this point truly were the most heavy, aggressive and brutal, Bon, he was the man.
16. For me there is no "or" its simply both, they have their own characters and I use them accordingly.
17. Was not the sound that I was expecting to come out of her, nice rich voice, class act that young lady, I also remember Gail Ann doing a nice song + bass tune on the tube years ago. Makes a nice change to hear.
18. Great read, One of the scary things about that article it shows you how hard it is to make it out there at the moment, the investment in "talent" is now largely down to crass TV shows, the music business is even more messed up that it was.
19. Its amazing to hear what is almost a "dead" sound that James Jamerson had, but what great groove, and the way he played off the vocal melodies not just mindlessly following the bass drum, I have always said the bass guitar is a great melodic instrument when used right, and James was the master of that. I remember listening to a Steve Harris track (Phantom of the opera) that played isolated, sounded like it was all over the place, but when but with all the others instruments showed what a great bit of playing that is, Isolated bass tracks are very raw and insightful I find.
20. HE is a crazy man, I remember him from another post or vid doing a quick version of The Trooper by Iron Maiden, equally as crazy. Fair play to him.
21. true 100% Initial reaction, if they had included the line "no cold play dirge crap" I would have thought "I'll give this a go!"
22. Dancing in the moon light by my man Phil is a great choice, Waiting for an alibi is my fave for how I like the rock groove, but the one song that really comes to mind for when thinking about it straight away is Ai No Corrida by Quincy Jones, the original take with Louis Johnson on the Stingray bass, MAN dat is groove!
23. Fender P lyte was my first proper bass, has two at one point, a sunburst and the same colour as yours, great basses, nice and light but plenty of punch. Nice one mate.
24. RIP Jack a rock legend has passed today, the bass world just got a little less rock to, The Cream were the classic all round power trio for me, this is a bit of a shock.
25. Just read that about Wilko, great news and long may it continue.
