  1. My year of birth and the month and date of my daughters birthday. If I win the lottery tonight I'm having it. Even if I only win a tenner ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  2. Well that's me got GAS for mine back now! Sold it years ago and regretted it as the guy was walking down the drive with it! Great basses.
  3. Finally got to rehearse with the setup ๐Ÿ˜€ 2 guitarists, vox, medium hitting drummer. All went well apart from a speakon lead went down and like an idiot I didn't have a spare! Upshot was, I used a single cab with the Quilter and it sounded great. Plenty loud enough too! In future, it's a single cab for rehearsals. Well impressed. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  4. Three Boogies up for sale! Three! As I read each, all I could think was, oh borrax the Mrs is going to kill me!
  5. But it sounds "Awesome". Surprising how many butchered guitars sound " Awesome" on EBay! ๐Ÿ˜‚
  6. The sound of the Mrs having a go about my imperfections that I feel very hard to believe ๐Ÿ˜‚
  7. Bought some strings from Dave yesterday and they arrived this morning! All exactly as described too. Have no fear, Dave is a gent. Thanks again Dave Cheers Dunc
  8. When the Mrs was a poor student, we sussed out how to remove pen ink that the train conductor had used to spoiled her train ticket. Funnily enough it was E-Cig fluid that did the trick. Not all brands worked though. Saved us a good few quid on fares commuting back and forth to Uni!
  9. I am no longer surprised with the great stuff you put up for sale Walshy. It may be easier listing the gear you don't have ๐Ÿ˜‚ GLWTS
  10. It's not mine unfortunately . The photo is from the previous owner, fellow BC'er Geddys Nose. I'm sure he would let you know any details if you messaged him ๐Ÿ‘
  11. I picked up a Quilter Bass Block 800 and two BF 1x10's last night. So far, I'm very impressed. The size of the stack looks a bit toy like and comical but it sounds and puts out like a pro rig. I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces and the comments from other band members when they first see it and then after they hear it ๐Ÿ˜‚ Nice pairing of head and cabs. Great sound and farcical portability! Hats off to Quilter and Alex, the brainchild of these mighty but tiny BF cabs ๐Ÿ˜€
  12. Regardless of the current situation I'd say no. Over the years I've played loads of "free supporting" something events and everyone of them has been a complete fiasco. Badly run events with 12 bands on etc etc. By the time you take away the band members and partners, there's virtually nobody else there to donate etc. Local venues wanting local bands with a following to play for nothing while they pay some unknown Peruvian punk band a small fortune to waffle some claptrap and not have a single person pay entry to see them. Most of the venues here can't profess to be going under because of Covid as nobody paid in before it.
  13. If I hadn't already got a Big Twin, I'd be the owner of this. Cheaper than chips for an Ampeg cab and at 4ohm, what more could anyone want? I'm tempted to sell the Twin and go for this. No brainier if you are after a nice cab for silly money really. GLWTS
  14. It needs a damned good clean. Not got round to it yet though. I might relic it by using a wire brush and dettol! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  15. Recording over lockdown. Like everyone else, I found myself without a band and so recorded some stuff on my own. Stuck it on Soundclod and here it is. Under the name of 154.

    Hope the link is working!

Christ! Have you recorded all that lot during lockdown? I told myself I'd get some recording done, but I've been getting caught up in the minutiae. Probably recorded about 16 bars so far. Good work man!

Thereโ€™s more that need some finishing!

  16. Please ignore the ยฃ365. I canโ€™t edit it to ยฃ400! Trade - studio equipment. P bass maple board. Oly would be perfect but not essential. Cash adjustment either way. Back up for sale after a long think! Alas, itโ€™s just too heavy for me now. Noticed a bit of a crackle (which isn't really bad) on the pup selector today. Only does it when changing pups though. I'll spray it with switch cleaner when I get a chance. Hopefully that will sort it out. Westone Thunder II MK2. I think it's a MK2. If my memory serves me right, there's 3 versions in the series. http://www.westoneguitars.net/basses/thunder/ Nice bass in decent condition for a gigging bass and its age (early 80's). Increasingly hard to find. Passive or 18v active, although I've never used the active circuit. I played a Thunder 3 for over 20 years and this is basically the same bass with a different headstock logo and cream pup covers. I never used the active on that either as I found it sounded better without (I'm not really a fan of active basses). I used the active switch a mute. It's missing the truss rod cover. It wasn't there when I got it. The metal active toggle seems to bet a bit bent too. I've not used the bass much in a while as it's getting a bit heavy for me. Itโ€™s approx 10lb 11oz as I recall. I do not have a hard case for it and as it's a thru neck I'd be reluctant to post without (see below). Maybe something could be sorted out though. Collection and trial to make sure everyone is happy would be ideal or meet up possible. I'm in Blackburn Lancs BB22SH. Will only consider posting (well packaged of course) if potential buyer organises their own courier and insurance. UK only please.
