  1. Lovely cabs. It's been a while but I remember mine being nice and warm and not too heavy. GLWTS
  2. Where I went, we had a teacher knocking a pupil off for years. All the kids knew so the staff certainly did. It started when she was 12 and when she left school, she moved in with him and had a load of kids. Things certainly were different then.
  3. Indirectly. At school our music teacher was a complete bullying tw@t. He went all around the room one day and ordered us to sing solo. When it got to my turn I refused. He screamed that in his lesson, my voice was his. I told him to fork off which sent him into a violent rage. As a result I got grief and bullied from most of the other teachers for most of my secondary schooling. That caused me to rebel, pick up the bass and join a band at the age of twelve. Never looked back! 😀
  4. Price drop. Now silly money for one of these.
  5. Or wire brush and Dettol.
  6. I bought this as a spare on BC a few months back as a fixer upper. It's sorted now but I've got a new head coming and need to move some of my other heads on. Here's the original post - Hope you don't mind basslondon 😁 When it arrived, indeed only one channel was working. Eventually I had a look at it and It seems like something had been inserted into one of the four speaker outs that had pushed one of the jack connecting poles out of place. Maybe a faulty jack? Opened it up and bent the pin back. Hey presto, the outs started working again. The socket was a little loose on the connected board and so I dropped a little solder on to solve that too. I've tried all 4 speaker outs and none of them sound distorted to me. I can't tell you if they were distorted before the fix as I didn't try them. I used the DI out to record before repair and that sounds great. I also tried the fx loop while recording at that was fine too. I think I paid £50 plus £20 postage so, at £85 functioning sounds like a pretty good deal. Everything appears to work as it should now. It sounds great, granted it doesn't look new but it's not that bad either. It has character! A couple of the sliders on the graphic are missing but that's purely cosmetic and they can be still used as normal. I honestly think everything is working as it should but please bear in mind what's been said. I'd much prefer someone to come and try it out for themselves, rather than something happen to it in the post and then the buyer to think I'd sold it knowingly faulty. However, if it was to be posted then I'd pack it well for the buyer and leave it to them to arrange their own insured courier. Payment by bank transfer.. I'm in Blackburn Lancs. 7. The Mrs is a walking medical cabinet and told me the same. It works really well and quickly. It also toughens the skin a bit to prevent from it happening again.
  8. What a stunner! Incredible! 😁 GLWTS Walshy you never cease to amaze me. You have one too! My year of birth!
  9. This thread has just reminded me that I've got a Selmer Treble n Bass 50! Must get it set up with the BF 110's and have a listen!
  10. Now, if you had asked me that, question, you would have got a totally different pic in the reply! 😂😂😂😂
  11. Something's cropped up and so a price reduction. I'd been using this at rehearsals before lockdown and it sounded great (as all Ashdown Evo heads do) and plenty loud enough. In fairly good condition but absolutely not pristine. A few marks on the outer case etc as seen in the pics. When I got it the The master was a bit scratchy, I've cleaned it today with switch cleaner and now it's back to normal. I've recently acquired a Quilter and so this is now redundant. Comes with a slip cover that will keep the rain off but not much more. The wooden case what the amp is built into is bulletproof though 😀 Collection from Blackburn BB22SH, could meet up within reason if I'm out and about or will post at buyers cost and risk. Buyer to arrange a courier. Will be well packaged. May trade and add some cash for a micro head. TE Elf or something similar.
  12. There was no luck for me. Nothing but a crumpled piece of crumpled paper and a shattered dream 😞
  13. My year of birth and the month and date of my daughters birthday. If I win the lottery tonight I'm having it. Even if I only win a tenner 😂😂😂😂
  14. Well that's me got GAS for mine back now! Sold it years ago and regretted it as the guy was walking down the drive with it! Great basses.
  15. Finally got to rehearse with the setup 😀 2 guitarists, vox, medium hitting drummer. All went well apart from a speakon lead went down and like an idiot I didn't have a spare! Upshot was, I used a single cab with the Quilter and it sounded great. Plenty loud enough too! In future, it's a single cab for rehearsals. Well impressed. 😃
  16. Three Boogies up for sale! Three! As I read each, all I could think was, oh borrax the Mrs is going to kill me!
  17. But it sounds "Awesome". Surprising how many butchered guitars sound " Awesome" on EBay! 😂
  18. Silly silly money indeed. GLWTS
  19. The sound of the Mrs having a go about my imperfections that I feel very hard to believe 😂
  20. Is postage an option? 😀
  21. Great cabs. Only sold mine as I'm an idiot! GLWTS
  22. Bought some strings from Dave yesterday and they arrived this morning! All exactly as described too. Have no fear, Dave is a gent. Thanks again Dave Cheers Dunc
