  1. Due to a couple of new acquisitions incoming, up for sale is my De Armond Starfire wearing fairly new groundwound strings. I've got a set of flats that came off it when I bought it that I'll include too. It's in good condition for its age and has had a couple of mods by the previous owner. The jack socket has been moved to the front of the bass (pic of the old hole added). To be honest, it's much better on the front as they don't sit too well on a stand plugged in in the original position. There's also an extra strap button, it was there when I bought it and to be honest, that works well too for a quick height change. Has USA pups. Hard case included. It's short scale but takes medium scale strings due to the tailpiece. Trades - Try me with anything music related. Basses to Macs. I'll get some better pictures tomorrow in the daylight. Collection and trial much preferred from BB22SH but can ship. Buyer to arrange their own courier and insurance.

  2. I had a crafted in Japan P in oly. Sold it on here a number of years ago and still regret doing so. Lovely thing.
  3. Surprised this is still here. Perhaps if you'd put it up for £100 more in the first place and said offers invited, you would have got £50 more than you actually wanted! 😀 GLWTS
  4. I thought you were going to say he wanted it back after you'd fixed it! 😂 Some of the old Peavey gear is great!
  5. The combo was abandoned and was left at the rehearsal room as no one wanted to store it. It wasn’t left for the bands benefit. The singer didn’t want it in his room. It only stayed there as no one would take it away.
  6. Imagine this scenario. Bassist joins band approx 8 years ago. Perhaps longer. Bassist leaves band and leaves his combo with the guitarist. Approx 7 years ago Guitarist takes combo to the singers rehearsal room as he doesn't want to store it. Afore mentioned bassists father then joins the same band as the bassist. Approx 7 years ago Father uses the combo for rehearsals and gigs. The father leaves the band 2 years ago and leaves his sons combo. A few months later, the guitarist who the combo was originally left with also leaves the band and forms a band with the bassist who had left shortly before him. He also leaves the combo. Are you following? 2 years ago, I join the band and the combo is still there. I used it a couple of times in rehearsals only before taking my gear there. Last week, the original bassist sends a message via his father that he wants his combo back 🙄 His father goes to collect it with the same guitarist who the combo was originally left with. Next thing, posted on Facebook is a load of insults about the singer and he was "going to pay" for damage to the tolex on the combo? They didn't mention this whilst picking it up? Tonight a tirade of threatening text messages are sent to the singer! Honestly, you couldn't write it. All this over a decade old Behringer combo that wouldn't fetch £40 if it was mint! 😂😂😂😂 Personally I think they were lucky that the combo still exists, never mind a little bit of damage to the carpet covering!
  7. If it sounds good to you - use it. If it doesn't then don't. Same scenario with any gear really. Personally, I've used Peavey gear quite a lot, mostly in the early 90's. Bass gear and PA's. Sounded great then. A while ago, I did a PA and the bassist had an old Peavey TNT combo, it sounded really great. He had bought it a couple of weeks before For £70. In many ways it's all a personal preference. There's also the fact that the cab you used could have been old but really tired? Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to use a PA cab if needs be.
  8. Hi Karl, what's the neck like? It it a bat (doesn't look like one in the pics) or a more modern profile? I'd like this but same as ever I need to move something on first 😔
  9. Mac basses. Try me with anything. I very nearly made the switch to 6 but another project (which is taking up most of my time) has come along that requires 4's only. I've had it about 12 months. It didn't look used when I bought it and it hasn't left the house since. Squier dater website says that it was built in 2015. 3 tone Sunburst. Looks like new, comes with a nice new looking Armourdillo rigid case (with keys). Has a Staytrem bridge fitted (original included) and is strung with rounds. Don't think they are stock strings as they are far better than the ones on the new Vi that I previously owned. I bought it with 2 sets of strings one of which is a set of La Bella flats. I took them off and fitted the rounds. The top E on the La Bella's broke when I took it off. They may go back on ok but I cannot guarantee that they will. I would much prefer collection and trial from BB22SH but you can arrange a courier or I could probably meet up depending on distance. The case is still in the loft so pics or that to follow.
  10. No pics for me either? I picked up one of these from around 2000. It's great. Sounds and plays far better than any Mex I've owned.
  11. These are fab little heads. I picked one up recently from here and it's one of the best purchases I've made on BC. Bought it as a spare but wouldn't hesitate to use it as a main. GLWTS
  12. Silly money indeed for great gear. I really don't understand why this hasn't sold?
  13. I've got my eye on to it too Karl. £724 short 😂 Lovely thing. Who knows what tomorrow may bring though? 😀
  14. Real Eden bargain! Really great heads and for some reason greatly overlooked. Maybe the name isn't sexy enough? I used an Eden Metro combo for years and hands down it was the best piece of kit I've ever used. Beautiful sound and construction. Glass back forced the reluctant sale. GLWTS
  15. Traded amps with Mike. Great transaction, everything as it should be. Nice fella, good communication and amp exactly as described. Have no worries. Deal with confidence. Thanks again Mike. Cheers Dunc

Just done a trade with Martin for a couple of pedals. Great condition, exactly as described. Had a good all chat about all things bass at a social distance too. Have no fear, Martin is a great BC'er and a jolly nice fella. Thanks again Martin. Cheers Dunc
  17. I googled it. I'm now sat with my head back and tissues up my nose 😂
  18. They are great amps. No need to dial anything in as they work straight out of the box so to speak. I was using it with a Big Twin and the sound was immense but I moved onto 2 Barefaced 110's and my OCD wouldn't cope with the overhanging 😂 Indeed they go for silly silly money and in reality, Ashdown are one of the best out there. Vastly underrated. If I had more room at home I'd happily keep it. The DI is great for recording too! I'm talking myself out of selling it aren't I? 😂
  19. Bought a distortion from Nigel. Great communication and a pleasant chap too. It arrived very quickly in super duper packaging, exactly as described. What more could you ask for. Thanks again Nigel. Cheers Dunc
  20. Sold Lee an amp. Great communication and fast payment. Great chap. Thanks again Lee. Cheers Dunc
  21. Can confirm that these sound great through a BF 110. Beautiful sounding amp and combination. GLWTS.
  22. As above, in great condition. Great head but I've got a Boogie coming and this is far too good to hang around as a spare. Comes with the gig bag and relevant literature. I think these ship with a locking power lead? Haven't got a clue what that is but it comes with a traditional kettle type instead. All working as it should. Great sound, loads of headroom and lighter than a light thing. May px plus cash my way for a TE Elf to use as a spare. May consider others of the same ilk. Collection much preferred from BB22SH. Will ship at buyers cost and risk but will be well packaged. Payment by bank transfer or cash on collection please.
