  3. I did a few gigs in Belgium and Luxembourg a few years back. The first few gigs one of these was supplied. I loved it. After that was an Ampeg Classic and an Ampeg 8x10. I loved that too but can honestly say that I had no preference between the two. Top kit. GLWTS.
  4. Best results I've ever had was in the late 80's with a Tandy PZM. Cheap as chips then considering.
  5. Good on you 😁 If it's any consolation, I started playing bass when I was 12 and could hardly get my hand around the neck. Had to play it like a lap guitar at first. Nevertheless, I stuck Never Mind The Borax on and The Clash 1st LP on and didn't stop until I'd learned how to play them. I still remember how to play most of the tracks, I'm sure with your ability, you will have no problems at all! 👍 Get an album on you love and try to follow it! I'm far from a pro at the age of 55 though! Good luck and welcome. Again!
  6. I once did a PA for a small festival for free with similar stories. The organiser told all the bands to bring nothing as it's all provided? Out of 6 bands, only one lot even brought a guitar lead! One keyboard player who wasn't the brightest said " I see you don't have a keyboard stand!". The organiser complained I was late to arrive? I arrived on time but he had booked another band to play an hour before we had agreed 😂 Nobody offered to help me out (although I was on my own) either. They asked me to do it again the year after! You know how that went 😆
  7. I wouldn't have a problem if it wasn't from past experience. It could go fine or totally breasts up. I've seen support bands spilling beer over other bands gear (and mine). Drums decimated. Even curry sauce all over other folks gear. Many incidents really. After many years, I've come to the conclusion that the venue asking either can't be bottomed or they are putting far too many bands on in the first place and so, should not be asking you that.. I've done all this many times and now the motto is - if you bend it, mend it. Even ask for a deposit. See what they have to say about that 😂
  8. Many a good tune played on an old fiddle!
  9. I'd love this to pair with my BF 2 x 110's. That would get the full 2 ohms from my Boogie Subway 800. Unfortunately a recent acquisition says no. If circumstances change, I'll be in contact straight away. Looks a great piece of kit. GLWTS
  10. Started using a Messa Subway 800 and 2x Barefaced 110's. Super light, very portable and sounds great. As the head goes down to 2ohm, I've always got the option of adding more cabs. Another pair of 10's would do nicely. Modular and loud enough to play most stages.
  11. Click and a Roland SPD SX. Let the drummer trigger the keys and whatever else you care to.
  12. 'Tis a formidable rig indeed. Unfortunately, I think my days of lugging 8x10's around and heads heavier than Bill Gates' wallet are all but done. However, if the days of the roadie ever returned, I'd be all over it. GLWTS
  13. Lozz bought my Precision. Flawless transaction and a nice guy to deal with too. Have no reservations to deal, I wouldn't hesitate to do so again. Thanks again Lozz. Cheers Dunc
  14. As many as you can hide from the other half! 😁
  15. Would prefer a trade for - Ernie Ball Stingray or Sterling. Not particularly bothered about looks as long as it sounds and plays well. May consider EB USA Sub with cash adjustment. Black USA 2008 passive P bass. BWB guard, maple neck and board. Not S1 switching. Lovely bass in great condition. A bit of rash on the year and a small ding at the back of the neck that doesn't affect playability. I really like this bass but prefer a P to have a slimmer neck profile (Jazz style). It's not a baseball neck. 42mm at the nut and weighs in at a very manageable 9lb 4oz on the scales. Pics to follow. Local meet or collection from BB22SH would be good but postage could be possible. Any question please ask.
  16. The Mrs has been using Hermes to post items that's she raffles in aid of Boston Terrier Rescue. Needless to say that eventually it all went wrong. One big parcel, next day delivery, shrinkwrapped containing 20 items didn't even make it out of the first sorting depot. Insurance claim now in process. Not much consolation to the raffle winner though. She also sent a load of dog jumpers and coats to Bulldog rescue via Hermes. They went the same way. I learned my lesson a long time ago with them and now hopefully the Mrs has. When parcels don't make it out of the town they were posted from, there's something seriously amiss.
  17. Best wishes Tom. Lovely bass, right up my street but P basses covered unfortunately. Good luck. Get well soon pal.
  18. All is good thanks! Hope all is well with you. As a matter of interest, what's the nut width please? I've got a really nice USA P that I'm thinking of selling as it's traditional neck and I prefer a shallow or Jazz width. If it's either of those and I can sell mine - I'm on it!
  19. Oh that's nice. Unfortunately no cash and no Rik. GLWTS
  20. Bought Sean's BigZes pedal. It arrived quickly and exactly as described. All round great transaction and wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again. Thanks very much Sean. Cheers Dunc

  22. The combo version I have was mistakenly shipped from new with a 4ohm driver (there's a big thread on here about it). It worked flawlessly. I eventually put an 8ohm in so I could use 2x10's with it. You can 100% use this with a 4ohm cab.
  23. Mostly used mine with either the 10" combo cab and sometimes the extension cab too. That sounded great but when paired with a pair of Ashdown. 4x8's, it was a thing of absolute beauty!
  24. Great little heads. I've gigged many times with one of these. Main or a spare it's a no brainer at that price. GLWTS
