3. Would struggle to justify a 4th P, so just
4. I believe the OP is referring to the 'and' of the 4.
5. Let's not forget heft. Actually, yes, let's forget heft.
6. I had flats (Chromes) on my G&L L1505 (now owned by Pinball) and they worked great, loads of top end when you wanted it. Didn't like Cobalts though, they felt like half-rounds and sounded like rounds!
7.
I could be tempted with late 60's or early 70's Precisions as part payment if anyone is interested...
Why did you have to say that!
8. That's it for now, might put some JJ EL84 pairs up when I get round to testing them!
9. POD PODDY POD POD - POD POD
10. Pretty sure a couple of BC members have PF50s, just can't remember their user names! I was toying with the idea of a PF50 until the pound/euro rate pushed the prices up. Now I'm waiting for them to appear in BC marketplace...
11. I think the problem may lie with Audacity. If I record to Audacity on my iMac I sometimes get clicks like that, especially when the signal approaches 0dB. Try the same setup but recording into GarageBand.
12. ^^^ +1 to the Laney LT5 (Lionheart)
13. Over the next few days I will be testing and sorting my excess valves. I own 4 all-valve guitar amps and 2 bass amps with valve front-ends, and I have ended up with far more than I will ever need! All are tested and working unless otherwise stated - those are the actual valves sitting in my Orange valve tester (you can see their matching values on the LED ladder). Prices include UK postage. If you are looking to buy more than one lot I will reduce the cost accordingly. (1) Matched pair of Sovtek EL84 / 6BQ5 - made in Russia - £13 (2) Sovtek EL84 / 6BQ5 - made in Russia - £7.50 (3) [s]Electro-Harmonix 6V6EH 6V6GT - made in Russia - £9[/s] WITHDRAWN (4) Fender-badged Sovtek 12AX7WC (ECC83) - made in Russia - £6.50 Both triodes have the same matching value, so this valve is suitable for use as a phase splitter [s](5) Vintage Brimar 6V6GT - made in England - £14 - with free ornament (see below)[/s] WITHDRAWN [s]The valve in the picture tested good with a matching value of 7. It came to me in an amp with another one, which came up as a fail with a matching value of only 2. The amp was working on both valves, but I can't in good conscience put up the second valve as a 'runner'. I am therefore including it as an ornament at no extra charge! The price above is for the working valve. I will clearly indicate which is which. Hope that makes sense![/s]
14. I used to own an 80s Gibson LP Junior, but yours has what mine sorely lacked - a wrap-around bridge!
15.
I somehow never realised these worked with bass! A buddy had one to use with his Variax and it was a very cool toy. Have a good-luck bump!
I presume that was one of the Bass Pods! There are amp models on the POD 2.0 that can work quite well with bass - Brit Classic (1968 Marshall 'Plexi') at low gain, Tube Preamp) - this is principally a device for skinny-string guitars. Don't forget trade offers
16. You mean like this?
17.
... 5 muffs in a row? =P
Please don't Google that while you are at work!
18. I don't much care as long as I am being offered work!
19. Go for quality with a Hercules HA300 - comes with 2 different mic stand attachments plus a handy desk-top stand. Will be using mine on a reading gig tomorrow night...
20. Fender truss rod access at the body end - aargh!
