1. Jack Hohner, Jack Hohner - didn't he sit in the corner and report some kind of food-related incident?
2. I always thought 'dummy load' referred to the trips made by a guitarist carrying a 100W head and two 4x12 cabs...
3. Personally I prefer the option of being able to use my own choice of amp head with my BF cabs, rather than being stuck with just one. The only extra setup time comes from placing the head on top of the cab(s) and connecting them with a speaker lead - I think I can live with that.
4. I had one with Jazz-type pickups. In the end I favoured the sound of a Precision, but yes a pleasant playing experience. I think the asking prices have got a bit unrealistic in recent years.
5.
Why don't any of the terminus stations have names?

Not something I thought of TBH.
Maybe use those for players who have reached the end of the line?
6. Bruce Thomas on Elvis Costello's stuff.
7. Mike bought some strings from me, paid promptly and gave me some nice feedback
8. After reading this thread I downloaded Reaper. I haven't really got on with software DAWs in the past but in the same evening I was able to record and play back some audio, record and play back MIDI drums, use VST drums, and set up my iPad to as an OSC controller.
9.
Cripes! Just had a look at some of the ones mentioned above and they seem amazingly expensive - even compared to hard cases.
Check out the TGI Extreme - I paid £37 from Bassgear, but I'm not sure they do them now they are online only.
10. BT2 installed and working - yay!
11.
In my experience young'uns love the Line 6 Spider amps. Vast (and I mean VAST) range of sounds and effects and enough gadgetry to keep an 11 occupied for ages.

Line 6 Spiders are pretty terrible amps IMO. I tried one with my Gretsch earlier this year and was astonished at just how bad it was.
Avoid!

13. I listened to the whole of the first number, not least because it is very listenable! I wondered how much the tapping technique on the guitars 'drove' the kind of music they produce, rather than being a way to reproduce the music in the musicians' heads (although the same question can just as well be asked of 'conventional' guitar technique).
14. I recently purchased a set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwound strings for just over £40, the cheapest I could find them. They do exactly what they say on the tin, i.e. sound as bright as roundwounds, yet the feel is closer to that of flats (they feel similar to D'Addario half-rounds to me). I really wanted to try them, but I have concluded they are just not for me and I am going back to D'Addario Chromes. The strings have been cut to fit a standard 4-a-side Fender Precision or Jazz, and have had a small amount of home use only, so basically as new, although I didn't keep the packaging. Yours for £27 delivered, PayPal gift or bank transfer
15. I saw them live in a pub in Durham in 1980 when I was a student. They were a guitar/bass/drums 3-piece then with very quirky original songs.
16. Is there a cash equivalent?
17. I don't think you'll find too many people to disagree with you here!
18. Measurements confirm that the HB2 tuner would be a direct replacement for mine, so BT2 Xtender it is!
19. Photo-flame? I'm out!
20.
As for circuits and whatnot, I can't be of much assistance here unfortunately, but maybe KiOgon of the basschat brethren could help - he has all manner of ingenious kits available which are really reasonably priced.
+1 to KiOgon for wiring looms. A friend was round trying out my basses, and when he played the one with a KiOgon control set in it, he remarked on the smoothness of its operation. Plus they are easy to install and swap around.
21. The Boss LS2 has attracted criticism for its lack of transparency. I don't expect the DOD Meatbox's buffer is much to write home abut either!
