Popular contemporary funk for The Dog and Duck.
Chezz55 replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
'Get Lucky' - I think this is the worst 'funk' song ever. To my ears - it's not musical, the vocal is dire, and the song doesn't have a groove. -
I bought a Hohner B2ADB headless bass guitar, from Tomaso (TheSwing). A first-class transaction, no problems at all. Tomaso is a thoroughly nice person - he's well mannered, good humoured and has a seemingly boundless enthusiasm for bass. Excellent communications from initial enquiry to sale completion, with comprehensive details and information about the bass. Accurate directions to the collection location in East London - a really warm welcome when I arrived and the bass was plugged in and ready to try. Thanks Tomaso, it has been a pleasure doing BC business with you sir. Chris.

Definitely - a very under-rated Bass Guitarist, great showman and a very nice bloke to talk with. -

The car in the last photo of the first post is drop-dead gorgeous (if only it wasn’t pink 🤢).

Around 1974/5 we were booked to play at a village hall in rural Essex. We arrived and introduced ourselves to the organiser - who told us an upcoming band would be opening for us. That upcoming band went on bigger and better venues, they were called ............................ The Stranglers

'The Big Noise From Winnetka' - a Drum'n'Bass duet from 1939. Written and played by Bob Haggart (string bass & whistling) and Ray Bauduc (drums). I remember my dad playing this record in the late 1950's (it was a 10" ; 78rpm ; made of shellac, which was very brittle and the forerunner of vinyl) and. Dad was a huge fan of the 'Big Bands' and I was inspired by his enthusiasm. And an alternative version by University of Minnesota Duluth professors Dr. Adam Booker and Dr. Gene Koshinski who revisit the classic tune composed and made famous by bassist Bob Haggart and drummer Ray Bauduc. Enjoy.

And the best bass sound I've ever had is..... (drum roll)
Chezz55 replied to la bam's topic in General Discussion
My Best Studio/Recorded Bass Sound: Status Stealth II + Ashdown ABM600 +Ashdown 8×10. (The Status was mine, the Ashdown was the studio's house bass rig.) My Best Live Bass Sound: Status Stealth II + GenzBenz Shuttle 6 + Schroeder 4x10L. (I should have resisted the GAS and kept this gig-rig.) -
Peter has given my TC Sub'n'Up a new home - an ideal transaction with excellent communications throughout. It was a pleasure doing BC business with you Peter - thankyou and keep putting the bass in. All the best. Chris
