Even in the fully off position that bridge pickup makes for a nice thumb rest !!

I play this song in my current set. I tried playing it on a 5 for convenience sake, but it does make the fingering a bit tedious as it was originally played on a 4. The octave for the main riff in the verse is ok, but the little walking lines get trickier in this tuning. I couldn't be assed to stick with it and just went to my p/j With regards to strings, I just use my standard roto's 105's, it will help get you closer to his original tone which is a little rubbery I guess. Most importantly though it saves having a bass for just one song, because if you try and tune up to e with bigger gauge strings, it will ruin your action/setup. Keep it simple matey! Would also recommend a sansamp vt bass to get that overdriven ampeg sound!!!

I'm pretty open when it comes to music genres, I prefer some more so than others, but struggle with some of the "pop" stuff. Having said that, that's from a listening point if view, I find nearly all music enjoyable to play!

After my last gig, this could be a good idea, more so on the side fret markers. I had some foot lighting that was hell bent on burning my retinas out, which meant neither me or the guitarist could really see what were doing! I though I'd take a break and turn around and have a jam with the drummer, and the back truss lighting then came on a blinded me again!!! All part of the fun I suppose!!

To be really honest, I don't think you will go wrong with any if the gear you have mentioned. I have GK neo cabs and they are great, just be VERY carefull with the crossover on the back as the horns are very delicate, and the only GK distributor told me it would be an 8 week wait for a replacement. Other than that, they are loud, clean and amazingly portable (I fit my 212 and 115 side by side in the boot of my Mondeo hatch without having to adjust the seat, just take the parcel shelf out). The markbass little mark stuff is fairly transparent so if you want any colour it may not be for you. I have a GKMB200 as my backup to my rb100ii and am amazed how nice it sounds and how loud it can go. The fusion versions will give a little warmth, but all of them still have that classic GK tone. Bang for buck, I don't think you can go past it

Great feedback guys. And yes cameltoe you are correct it is Eb not Bb lol.... Feeling rather silly now! But it was the Eb that lead down the Gminor as a opposed to Gmajor

The chorus start on a Bb unless I am mistaken, hence why I am leaning toward minor, but there are notes played that don't fit either scale.... Or I am missing the point completely!

Hey all, sorry to lure you here under false pretences, but my question is actually related to Rob DeLeo and a couple his songs I am trying To make sense of. But since he openly admits to rehashing jamerson, I figure the two are somewhat interchangeable in this instance as it applies to the way they create their bass lines. I am trying to understand theory and how to create my own lines by looking I to how these two songs (plush and interstate love song) are written in relation to the appropriate scale. Plush is in G minor and interstate is E major (I think) yet studying the bass lines I am finding a lot that are outside the scale. I understand the concept of passing notes, but some of the notes appear to be played at the same time as a chord, so do I have the key wrong? How far "out" can you play and get away with it??? If someone could assist if be very greatlfull! One very confuzzed little bass player!

Hey all, had my first rehearsal with my new toy, and it is bloody amazing. It's a spector euro 4LXEX, basically a neck trough p/j with a spalted maple top and it plays and sounds amazing. The previous owner has installed an EMG 3 band eq, which I'm not entirely sold on, but this is a very small issue easily fixed with a tonepump. Otherwise I cannot fault it at all. One very happy bass players here!!!

Just bought a spector euro from Dave and couldn't be happier. He was Incredibly patient while I waited for the sale of my bass to go through. Great bloke to deal with. Thanks again Dave!

We have our own feelings and are entitled to them whether or not they seem reasonable to others. Really pleased that in the end you not only got to hang on to the band you were clearly enjoying but also you now get to create some original music and play some nice big shows. Well done mate!
