1. +1 to the US SUB range, they are amazing value for money. They were build it SLO where the US models are made using the same hardware and electronics. The SUB was their first attempt at a more affordable stingray, so they used less attractive cuts of wood, had less body work (no tummy contour) and used textured paint on the body and painted the neck. If you don't mind the look, they are truly amazing, and if you want a 5 string ray (not a 5 string sterling pretending to be a sting ray) this is the only option without dumping a tonne of cash on a "classic". I don't think these ended up being as profitable as MM hoped, hence the limited run. You would have thought that a company the size of MM would have had a better marketing department really, the waters are just so muddy now with their products, it surely shouldn't be that hard???
2. Hey all, I have a stagg pedal board if anyone is interested? It's the larger one measuring 700mm W x 300mm D and 105mm H, reasonably good Condition, but some of the fabric is coming away in the corner. A bit if contact spray would see it right but ill throw in some loop Velcro strip to help out. Looking for £20, pick up only due to size. I am Wigan based but travel around the NW for work so might be able to meet. Let me know!
3. Yep the bridge is still available mate, I'll drop you a pm
4. Hey all, I'm selling my ehx q tron, it's the original type and comes with the original wooden box and 24v power supply. There are a few marks on it, but it is an older pedal. In the interest of full disclosure, one of the switches is a bit diddly but still fully functional. Will upload pics tonight. I would expect postage to be around £5 but can confirm for you. Let me know!!
5. Sure, drop me a PM with your details Mate

8.
Haha, counting to ten and thinking of kittens has a very limited shelf-life
:-) that has tickled me!!! I think it's just bands, VERY fortunate to be in (IMHO) a good band right now, but it's nearly bloody killed me in the process of getting the right personnel!!
9. Hey Cosmo, I'm in Wigan, but travel about the NW for work so could arrange a meet somewhere if you wanted
10. I really want the programable vt bass version, I just need a little more grit than the bbdi offers
11. Hey all, up for sale is my Sansamp Bass Driver DI. Only selling as I want to move up to the programable version, looking for £95, comes with original tin box, but sadly the manual is missing [http://s1282.photobucket.com/user/damoj2/media/image_zps1b522c25.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0#/user/damoj2/media/image_zps1b522c25.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0&_suid=140291427652300909995324551986] Let me know!
12.
Yes, I was just thinking about Nile ... to the OP, the bad news is that your problems are not solved even when you have managed to get a Bernard-ish tone and can play his lines tolerably well. An even more intractable problem then awaits: getting your guitarist to approximate what Nile does. If your guitarist comes from a rock/blues background (and needless to say, many if not most do, in this country at least), then it's going to be an uphill struggle. The problem is that many guitarists think funk guitar is 'easy' - just a couple of chords, lots of choking and that fast strumming plectrum thing - how hard can it be, eh? But when they have a go at it, you get this horrible churning sound that rock guitarists always make when they think they are being funky. Many do not even understand how to eq their amp for funk playing - turn off that reverb and distortion, FFS! Anyway, good luck with it!
HAHAHAHAHA, I'm crying!!! Nail hit squarely on the head!!
13. Barefaced get lots of love around here but I really like the Gallien Krueger Neo cabs. The 212 is really punchy, not too heavy and reasonably sized, depends how loud you need to be though. I run mine with a 115 and it's awesome
14. Yep, I agree totally. Just a very natural player who didn't really mess about with gear, having sad that, it was a different world when he started Playing! Nile Rodgers is the same, hit maker strat strait into a DI or the desk, with maybe a some Slight compression. If only we could all sound that good without help!!
15. Not sure about the stories of 'nard using old strings being "anecdotal", in Nile Rodger book, he talks about how annoyed 'nard breaking a string at sound check. Not a reaction of a man who likes new strings!
16. Great stuff, I had my first gig this year at 34, enjoy it it will be over before you know it!!
17. Anyone had any real life experience with the new deluxe bass big muff? How does it stack up to the russian muffs? I have seen some youtube vids and it seems really good with some great features. Any feedback appreciated.
18. After any trades spoony?
19. Haha, I am under no such silly notions!! In fact it's the opposite, it winds me up when I get like this because it consumed energy I would much rather be channelling towards my playing!!
20. Hey all, Just after a bit of advice really. I think I am getting better at reading the signs of GAS now, and my rig had been stable since mid feb (a personal record). However the only change made was to swap my mike dirnt signature (which had a jazz bridge pickup fitted) for a schector model t, so essentially the se bass, and this was only done as I just couldn't get on with the neck of the dirnt any more. However I am just about to shuffle my gear about, and am wondering if this is just a normal thing due to circumstances or if is genuine GAS that like most addictions I am just too blind to see!! I want to shift most of my effects as they are just not being used in my current band and swap it for 1 fuzz, and a tech 21 vt bass deluxe (the one with 6 different presets) as most of the sounds I need are svt related, and also sell my US SUB 5 for a warwick streamer or spector euro which will be more sound appropriate for what I am doing. It's not that I am fickle and just lost interest in my current gear and moving in to the next new shiny thing, I would keep it all if I could! I just think that the stuff I am looking at will suit my band better right now. Or am I deluding myself??
21. Ashtray sold and post amended.
