  1. Gorgeous wood, can't believe it was covered in paint!
  2. One of my favourite instruments from yesteryear. I loved it. If only they'd gone all in and copied the Steinberger strap system...
  3. Excellent...do love me a Vigier!!
  4. That's true. Cut a long story short I basically took a hiatus from playing over the 90's. When I returned I was staggered that Fenders - and Fender clones - were 'the thing' and more or less dominating music shops.
  5. I take your point however, also recall the 80's very well wherein Fenders were generally considered as 'naff' by a great many players.
  6. Ooft! Wowsers. Just like a bass only better ☺️
  7. I've got to say I wouldn't trade my Spector Euro for a Warwick. The reasons why your luthier doesn't fancy the Warwick and that resale value is so poor aren't trivial.
  8. Nailed it Ped. I agree wholeheartedly!
  9. Pains me to say I couldn't listen to Geddy Lee murdering the Rush back catalogue towards the end as his range deteriorated (I feel almost unclean for writing this such was my reverence toward him). A truly phenomenal musician, I don't think he ever really got enough credit for his vocals during their heyday: pitch perfect, unique, and just so on point. Ironic that they gained mass acceptance in the twilight of their career ...
  10. Hi itu: it's a 1990 Passion III deluxe. It has an alleged connection to Alphonso Johnson. Best 5 string I've played. 🙂
  11. Congratulations! An awesome find for sure. Enjoy it! I've been a huge Vigier fan for 40 years and adore them.
  12. Geddy Lee: I bought 'Exit Stage Left' upon its release and that was that. Mind blown.
  13. Monster basses. The highest standard!
  14. Gorgeous collection. My 1990 Passion III 5 string is my number one and nothing I've played before comes close (other than the Arpege I owned in the 80's). Simply peerless instruments. Sad to hear Patrice has retired.
  15. I used to own one of these: it was supremely playable and sounded great however, definitely not worth the asking price on show. Then again, it's worth a damn sight more than £149 lol. I recall the neck was super skinny and needed constant truss rod adjustment.
  16. Yup, I've recently emailed them about a deal too - but there's been no response at all.
  17. In my band I am the bass player therefore - as the bass specialist - I choose the bass. It's non negotiable. If you don't want my expertise you don't want me and I walk. That's where I'm at.
  18. These basses represent the rarest of commodities: Hand built quality at production line price point. Hand on heart I'd testify mine is of a higher build quality than my Overwater.
