I have been friends with Chris for some years on Facebook (which doesn't make us friends, obviously) after happening upon his work by accident. I haven't been able to get my hands on one of his basses, however really dig his designs, craftsmanship and overall ethos. He seems like a good guy who does what he says and says what he does. A very talented musician and vocalist too by all accounts.
I concur with Misdee.
I previously owned a four string Persuader, and as nice as it was I would expect an Alembic from much higher up the food chain for the asking price quoted.
The signatures add minimal value in my view.
The first Firm album made a big impression on me at the time of release and remains a personal favourite. Love Tony's playing. Midnight Moonlight in particular!
I've owned both models. An earlier 80's graphite necked Arpege and a 1990 Passion with the 90/10 neck.
The in's and outs have already been covered in this thread in a way which would put me to shame, so I'll leave it at that.
I consider them amongst the best basses money can buy.
Passive.
Went all around the active block for decades with an Alembic, Wal, ACG, Vigier, Musicman, Jaydee etc. before arriving back where I started.
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication has become my philosophy.
