Just seems odd as I have only ever seen Persuaders with a PJ (and rarely JJ) configuration and Spoilers with the dual AXY pickups. Here are some marketing ads from Alembic in the 1990s. Clarky Posted March 13, 2023 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Think I have figured this out. The Spoiler has a Q switch and 2 control knobs, whereas your bass has 3 control knobs, like the Persuader. Traditionally, a Persuader was about $200-300 less than a Spoiler for that reason. The purpose was to showcase our Activators. There are Persuaders with PJ, JZ, and AXY pickups. There's some with only one pickup too. Controls were one or two volumes (depending on the number of pickups) and a single filter control. Suspect the 5kg weight is exaggerated (I have never played a medium scale Alembic that weighed that much).
