1. I'm shocked that the OP's drummer could speed up by 15BPM and think it's ok to do that. I can feel a difference of a couple of BPM and I find that annoying. If he was in my band I'd say he has to go.
2.
COG Knightfall 66. That is all...
My favourite od/distortion too.
3.
Have a word with the well known modifier on Ebay. I would imagine he would be only too happy to do it for you
That's just brilliant, turning a real Ric into a Faker. I love it
4. The only way you'll ever know if it works for you is to get one.
5. I'm in a few bands. On the covers & function side I have to prioritise Friday and Saturday nights for earning decent money, so pub gigs on those nights will get depped out. Any other night is usually on a first come first served basis. My originals band works daytimes so no conflict there. I'm a full time player, and depping on & depping out gigs is the norm. Yes there are some bands that don't like it, but on the whole it's accepted as part of life in this business. It also helps keep us all from going nuts playing the same songs with the same people night after night, I love the variety. I'd say that maybe once every 2 or 3 years I have a problem with a double booked night that causes me a headache.
6. I can't believe nobody's said it yet, but why not get both?
7. Thanks Phil
8. I'm thinking about investing in some lights. The set I'm thinking about is this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/stairville_stage_tri_led_bundle_complete.htm Does anyone here have these, or any like them? Are they any good for small to medium gigs? Cheers.
Buzzaround!
I don't have a clue what noise it makes, but inside and out that is a tidy job you did there
10. I tried a Mooer Yellow Comp recently. On bass it was truly awful, but it did sound better on a guitar.
11.
this thing KILLS after an analog octave pedal
Isn't that the truth!
12.
Want indestructable? Buy a TU-3 Want accurate enough to set intonation? Buy a Turbo Tuner Want cheap? Buy a snark pedal tuner or a pitchblack Want really cheap? Buy a clip on. Want to tune lots of strings at once? Buy a polytune
Spot on there. Nuff said
13. I solve the volume spike by putting my Q-Tron in a loop with an MS60B set to tame the volume. I also use the Zoom to fine tune the EQ of the Q-Tron. A blending loop pedal could work well here too. Volume spikes & drops from pedals are no reason not to use them, there's always a solution to make them useable.
14. I'm being messed about by the main band I work with at the moment, so it's time for me to look at moving on. I'm looking to join a (hopefully busy) band doing functions and covers. I'm a full time bassist with good gear, transport and attitude. I've been doing this for a good while now so I have a wealth of experience, and I know a gazillion songs. I do BV's too. I'm based in North London and I'm used to travelling all over so motorway miles are no problem. I also have a small PA which I'm planning to majorly upgrade in a few months. If you fancy a chat about possible work, PM me for a 'phone number and we can have a talk about it. Thanks.
15. I would say get a guitarist. With just a keyboard as your main chordal instrument the sound is a bit one dimensional. Adding an electric guitar will really open things up. Best of luck.
16. The MXR rocks. And if you order one from Prymaxe you can get one delivered for well under £100.
17. I bought a pedal from Manfred. Great comms and no hassle at all. The parcel was really well packed, and arrived very quickly too. Deal with confidence. Thanks Manfred.
18. I sold Jokolono a pedal. Prompt payment, great comms, all in all a no-stress sale. Recommended. Thanks.
19. Nice one Gaz. I can tell you now you won't be complaining about loss of low end!!
20.
It looks like he is making the 66 a production pedal soon :-)
That's what I heard too
21. Email Tom for a quote, but something like £50 more than a standard Knightfall should be about right. And everything Bakerster said above is right. I love mine too.
22. I'd say go for the Knightfall 66. You'll get a lot more pedal for your money.
23. Wow, very funky.
24. I recently got a Blower Box, and I love it. I also have a TK-421-X (with added HPF mod) on order so I'll be able to a/b them. That'll be a few weeks away though but watch this space.
25. I've had a Streamliner 600 for a couple of years now, and I quickly paired it with a single HD112, it's a lovely combination. I tried an HD210 with the 12 but the adding the 10's in the rig made the overall sound way too punchy for my taste. This year I got a second HD112 and the two 12's together are stunning. Lots of tight & focused low end, a big sound. But not big in that it takes over the stage, yet it's all around you at the same time. Definitely worth trying out.
