1. I bought a strap from Ian. Another easy BC transaction, no hassle and quick delivery. Thanks Ian.
2. With age comes experience, so in some ways, yes. I do a lot of depping and in my experience it's ALL about who you know. So, get into a function band (if that's what you want to do) and over time you'll meet their deps. If those deps like you they may ask you to play with their bands here and there. Then you meet more musicians, and it will snowball into (hopefully) lots of work. It isn't easy starting out but stick with it, it takes time to build up.
3. I just bought an amp from Vic. He's been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Another top BCer, absolutely recommended. Thanks Vic
4. Yes, the new Master Fader app is a huge improvement on the old version. And the My Fader app is now compatible, about time. The reverb does seem to be one of the few minor niggles. And as soon as Mackie make recordings instantly playable on the iPad, I think they'll have pretty much nailed it.
5. I had the 'pleasure' of going to Alaska Studios near Waterloo recently. The first thing that hits you as you walk in is the smell of damp. The studios were pretty bad. Small stuffy rooms, old gear, crap mics and stands. And at the end of the night the 4 hour session cost over £70! I'll never go there again. I have been going to The Premesis on Hackney Road a lot with a different band. That place is a whole different experience. Loads of rooms of varying sizes, split over 3 floors, and there's even a lift. It's very clean and all their PA and rentable gear is top notch. And it's not much more expensive than a lot of the dives around. The only bummer is parking there, but I guess a lot of London rehearsal rooms have that problem these days.
6. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a DL1608, and I'm wondering if any BCers use a DL series mixer and would share their opinions.
7. I've been using re-useable cable ties for years. I love 'em. Look after your leads & cables and they'll last a lot longer.
8. I'm surprised this hasn't gone yet.
9. The Blueberry is still available
10. If it's a Sunday I'm a lot more likely to be able to make it. Count me in
11. I sold a pedal to Will. Another no-stress BC transaction. I'd deal with him again anytime.
12. I just sold a pedal to Steve. Great comms leading up to the sale. We had a couple of beers when I delivered the pedal and he's a top bloke. Steve, I can see you spending a lot of time (and money) in the classifieds here. Enjoy
13. Expensive high end rehearsal rooms do have good gear to rent for a practise. But over the years I've learned that if you want any kind of half decent sound in any cheaper rehearsal space, you have to bring your own bass rig. Even though a rented amp may let you sound like a bass, it doesn't let you sound like your bass, in my experience. Especially if you use effects, the amp just won't react the same as you're used to with your own. I always use my own rig where ever I rehearse.
14.
at the end of the day any bass amp sounds 90% like any other bass amp.
You're kidding, right??
15. Only the Blueberry left now. Grab it while you can.

I've got a Solidgold Beta for sale that might fit the bill. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/258411-dirt-pedal-sale-idiot-box-solidgold-mad-professor/
17.
COG just dials in right
I have to agree with Gaz on that. That COG is a bit special.
18. Up for grabs are three of my distortion pedals. They have been looked after, and are all in A1 condition. I've only ever had them mounted on my board so they all have velcro on the bottom. Prices include shipping on a signed for service. IDIOT BOX BLOWER BOX £80 ***SOLD*** Massive ammounts of distortion with this one. And lots of low end on tap. I don't have the original box for this pedal. 19. I'll be putting a couple of pedals up for sale here later tonight. My Blower Box will be one of them, if you're interested. The low end isn't just big, it's insane.

Filter Quest!
It does suffer from a volume boost so I will be modding it to fit a standard power connector and master volume control, and maybe even true bypass depending on how the bypass is (still need to test that out yet).
That's the one thing that bugs me with my Mini Q-Tron, the volume jump. I've used it in loops where I've had an EQ pedal set up to bring the volume down, but then that adds a couple more pedals onto my board, and that's not worth losing the space for me. And the Q-Tron is big enough by itself! Are you planning on modding yours yourself? I'd be interested to hear how that works out for you. I may do the same to mine at some point.
21. You keep building them, we'll keep raving about them!
