Personally I`d go with the wallet but it`s your choice, I had a blacktop and ....I didn`t have it long.

A Fender Blacktop Jazz can be had for a fraction of the price.

It will only sound like you want it to sound through your rig, all this can`t wait to hear what it sounds like is bollox, it wont sound the same through different gear.

Why not get a clear guard and attach/paint something to where the pots are or maybe even smoked/chrome window tint film cut to shape?

I thought that but when it`s the onlyone listed it makes you wonder what people would pay?

Are the Epi Explorers getting rare? I`m looking to sell mine to fund a new clutch on the car and cant find a decent price starting point for mine, the only one on ebay works out at over £700! Now I`m a realist and wasn`t expecting anywhere near that but was wondering have they suddenly become desireable?

First gig since March 2020 with the UFO tribute band, ironically on Pete Way`s birthday at Trillians in Newcastle, striped trousers were in order although they were a bit tighter than 17 months ago for some reason, nailed it and had a great night, not sure what the rest of the year has to offer.

Down sized my Hartke rig last year to fit in the new car, now using a Warwick LWA 500 with 2x8 Warwick and a 1x12 Gallien Krueger cabs, I will be spraying the GK grill shortly. Sounds decent enough though.

My Hardly Benton has had a minor overhaul, in comes black Gotoh hardware and a wenge Warmoth neck.

I got a bound and block rosewood jazz neck last year and it feels just like the one it replaced on my Vintera jazz.

I took a Vintera Jazz in on a trade with a snapped rod last year, bass itself was immaculate so I guess it must have had similar issues as the op`s P but the previous owner wasn`t as gentle!

I`ve got a `Lockdown` set from him on my Hardly Benton and it`s bloody fantastic!

Even better pickups! I`ve had probably every Epi T/bird going and the 60`s re issue is by far the best.

That body shape would really lend itself well to headless.

Whats the neck profile like on the 4 string?

I got the body from Bagsieblue off here, it`s got a Maida Vale Lockdown pickup that I got off ebay, supposedly hand wound and I have to admit that it does sound really good, the bridge is just a generic hi mass affair and the neck I already had lying around, I`ve always liked black and gold together since the Lotus F1 days so just stuck it all together. I`ve got the HB MB4 SBK as well.
