  1. Me too....I bought mine off of a mate for £50 1983 to use solely as a back up, couldn't get away with it, would of made a decent boat anchor.
  2. I've a set you can have, all I need is your address and they'll on their way tomorrow. PM me.
  3. Yeah, and we've all seen the tens of millions spent on absolute stinky poo labelled as modern art!
  4. A topic on The Ramones sure does bring out the snobbery in you "real musicians!" FFS! When you've wrote songs that are known the world over, done the world tours, had your music in movie soundtracks, had the album releases and sales figures to justify your high and mighty stances. Your opinions might be worth something!
  5. Up for sale by non other than ex Eddie and the Hot Rods/UFO and for the 2nd time current Damned Bass maestro, Paul Gray. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squier-Bass-VI-6-String-Electric-Bass-ex-Paul-Gray/184325288419?hash=item2aeaa4b1e3:g:DXwAAOSwXede4lcR
  6. Reading the description you could be forgiven for thinking it was one of you know who's listings.
  7. 1982 Squier JV Precision, bought for £250 inc hard case from the long gone Guitarzan in Middlesbrough in 1982. Went with all intention of buying a Fender Precision, which was priced at £475, I tried to knock him down to £450, but he wasn't having it and he suggested the Squier, I was umming and arrring and he said "I'll chuck the case in for nowt" I said "Ok". Sadly I have no photo's of the actual bass as a lot of our photo's and albums were destroyed due to a serious water leak courtesy of Stockton-On-Tees Borough Councils dodgy pipework. I sold it in 1990 for the same price I paid for it, thought I'd done well, turned out to be my worst musical decision ever. The photo is from the net, but it's identical to the one I had.
  8. I never saw Ped's post. But in my defence, and in reply to the quote above, I'll just say this..... "9 times out of 10 weird/ugly/strange bass gear is the result of someone butchering/modifying it".
  9. I'm not sure about anyone else here, but I feel his felt tip signed head stocks are very in keeping with Limelight instruments. 😂
  10. His activities are offensive to me and seeing as we're in a era of marmalade sandwichism where anyone can be offended by any little thing, I think I'll be alright with my views on this creator of heinous monstrosities.
  11. Harley Benton know they're in partnership with PCsGC? 😂 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wide-neck-Baritone-6-string-Hb-single-coil-pickups-PcsGC-and-Harley-Benton/193443400300?hash=item2d0a200a6c:g:RTsAAOSw~6BeqceR
  12. F**F****Sake! Typical this! If I hadn't just this morning ordered a Jazz Neck, for a Precision, I'd have had that neck. I have one of these and it's a lovely bass, I just can't get away with that lower offset. Are you sure £140 is your asking price for the full bass? If so, someone is gonna be getting a hell of a lot bass for an unbelievably generous asking price. No need to wish you GLWTS.
  13. Nice playing, but damn, I was really hoping to see Iron Maiden being slapped about.
  14. That would've been Andy Scott's Sweet, Steve and his wife moved to California around 1986 and he more or less led a reclusive life. IIRC he only ever returned to the UK for the funerals of former band mates Brian Connolly and Mick Tucker.
  15. R.I.P. Steve Priest. He kept it simple, most of the time, but he was no slouch.
  16. I had one of those on one of my Thunderbird's, I changed it for a Babicz FCH3 and I've managed to get the action lower than I could with the Hipshot.
  17. Great band and a tasty player is Mr Stelfox.
  18. Can you recall the make and where you bought the neck? I'm in the hunt for a Jazz neck preferably Rosewood with dot markers. GLWTS.
  19. 75 Black Sabbath - Symptom Of The Universe.
  20. This! Not an effects aficionado meself. Anybody know what the effect is on Mr McCoy's Precision during the Piano solo?
