  1. It's a Gibson! Two quick ways to tell A. Bridge placement B. Neck heel. With the Gibson, The Bridge is further back and they have a rounded heel. Epi Bridge is closer to the Bridge pickup volume pot, and the heel is almost squared. Also, this real or Epi thing is a bit off, my Classic Pro plays better than the Gibson I tried.
  2. Ooh I'm quaking in me boots! If he's gonna do things like that he deserves to be derided. Imagine the outrage and ridicule thrown at them if Fender had come up with that idea.
  3. and so he should, he's owned plenty, also his Badbird Bridge impressed Geddy Lee so much that he's had them fitted to his Thunderbirds.

  5. Congratulations on getting your Thunderbird tommo. (be careful when swinging that massive headstock) What colour did you get? If I were you I wouldn't put a thumb rest or covers on mine. You can't capture the Bicentennial vibe with the jack socket where it is! The only reason I put a chrome bridge and machine heads on my Classic Pro, is because I didn't like the Black hardware on Sunburst.
  6. The Jam at Newcastle City Hall Dec' 79, not a live album but IIRC filmed and shown on a Tyne Tees programme called Check It Out. Rainbow Live At Castle Donington Aug' 80. The Damned's Live In Newcastle Oct' 82. Thin Lizzy Live At Reading Festival Aug' 83. I could also be on Motörhead's No Sleep 'til Hammersmith, depending on which night at Newcastle Mayfair We Are The Road Crew was recorded.
  7. See that's a matter of opinion, I had a Precision once which had a Badass II and to be honest the only thing I noticed being different was that you couldn't get the action as low due to the big chunk of steel the saddles sat on. Besides there's nowt wrong with the humble BBOT.
  8. Thanks for the replies, Andy, it seems you're right, I've just been scooting round and seen a thread on that American place stating that they do not match up.
  9. I'm thinking of swapping out the Hi mass bridge on my Squier CV 70's Precision for a vintage Fender BBOT. Has anyone here done this already, or know if it will be straight fit? If it means having to drill new holes, I'll not bother.
  10. Can't see how it's made it any uglier meself like.
  11. I bought a Mighty Mite Precision neck off of Chris on Sunday, it arrived today very well packaged. Chris is a great bloke to deal with, his communication is spot on. Trade with him with confidence. Thanks again Chris.
  12. The most humble, down to earth man to ever tread the boards!
  13. I met them after the Mayfair and Dingwalls gigs in Newcastle in 82 & 83 respectfully. They were all down to earth apart from Scabies, who was up his own derrière on both occasions.
  14. Totally Agree Frank! But for me, this is a great album all the way through, sadly though, as you mention the production let's it down especially on the Bass side of things, Algy Ward is playing some great stuff down in that muddle of a mix.
  15. Yep, big influence on me when I started playing. (Still is!) He lives in your neck of the woods these days. He's on their latest album, Evil Spirits.
  16. The Damned's Friday 13th EP from 1981. Paul Gray's playing is wonderful and his Ric sounds immense!
  17. They were first produced in 2014. If you're after one they're cheaper at Thomann. https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_squier_classic_vibe_70s_p_bass.htm
