I bought a case for my Thunderbird off of Nick, it arrived today, very well packaged and in immaculate condition, a total bargain. Nick is great bloke to deal with. Don't hesitate if has something you're after.
  2. I wholeheartedly commend the addition of UFO's Rock Bottom, but the Strangers In The Night version is head and shoulders above the Studio version. Freebird is a total yawnfest! Also there's nothing from the genius that is Buckethead?
  3. He cut the string grooves in the nut all the way down to a "Microbe" above the fingerboard. Bogdeology with a little added Biology. 😂🤣😂
  4. It could've been worse. You could've been sacked for something utterly pathetic, like not dropping everything you were doing at the time, to rush off and help your band's derrière of a guitarist pick up the pieces (literally) when he totalled a recording studios massive overhead all-spangly and neony advertising sign with his van, as he was lining his pockets ferrying another bands gear to and from said studio.
  5. You've just described me from beginning in 1981 up to this day lol
  6. I should really get some time spent on mine. The "You don't seem play that much" line has been getting an airing of late, and we all know where that can lead too don't we?
  7. Being an old Pete Way fan, I bought an Ebony last year, sadly though it's been spending a lot of time on my rack collecting dust, as I prefer my Classic Pro which, absolutely Schat all over the Gibson that I tried at the time I purchased it.
  8. Exactly! People need look no further than the reincarnation of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. Now that is a real travesty!
  9. The Stranglers - Sometimes. Gillan - Roller. UFO - Highway Lady. Kings Of Leon - Charmer. Sweet- Sweet F.A. Hanoi Rocks - Tragedy.
  10. The Black headstock might be the only thing that's dodgy here.
  11. The Damned (always a spectacle to behold) are playing in one of the tents this year. Paul Gray is back on permanent bass duties, so that would've been the highlight for me, but I can't justify forking out my hard earned on Mr Evis' extortionate jamboree.
  12. To name a few. Bon Scott, Malcolm Young, Paul Hester, Phil Lynott, Rory Gallagher, Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder, Mick Karn, Freddie, Joey, Dee Dee, Johnny & Tommy, Philthy 'Animal' Taylor, Lemmy, Eddie Clarke. and most recently Mark Hollis & Paul Raymond.
  13. Yes thought of that route earlier but the high mass saddles are slightly wider and the height adjustment screws sit in recesses on the base plate.
  14. Wasn't taking it as an insult mate and yeah I binned off a 1979 Fender P because the Squier JV I bought as a back up in 1983 was far nicer to play.
  15. Hi Dave What's on the headstock doesn't bother me, I'm not a label snob mate. I already own two Epi Thunderbirds (a Classic Pro & a Vintage Pro) The Classic was bought as it felt nicer than the Gibson equivalent which I tried at the same time. I also own a Squier CV 70's P and like yourself I find the string spacing uncomfortable, esp when playing with a pick. as for swapping out the High Mass, I attempted to do this and found only the middle three screw holes matched up, didn't fancy drilling, so I backed off and left the High Mass on.
  16. Cheers Dannybuoy, Sadly mate the nearest decent music shop closest to me is Manson's in Exeter and their website is sketchy on what they have in stock, unless of course you're shopping for something that's over a 1K. I usually buy via Anderton's and take advantage of their 30 day no hassle returns period.
  17. Cheers Yorkie That is one lovely looking bass mate. I've gone for the Black/Maple (though the White PG will need to be replaced with Black) from Andertons, sadly not due in until June 3rd.
