  1. I actually liked this one - which surprised me as I haven't particularly like her other solo type projects I've heard. Sounds Jeff Buckleyish to me.
  2. My favourite bass on Alan's website this. GLWTS.
  3. Couldn't agree more. Whilst I love this album I can't help but focus on his bass which I still find spellbinding at times.

I've not used a TC amp before but have always assumed they would be the same?

    I use a spectracomp - it really is awesome for it's size/price.
  6. Lovely bass. I do like Olympic white with a tort guard. Although I've not heard of a cutlass bass before!
  7. To be fair I have used the small hands description myself.
  8. Yeah, I really didn't mean to single anyone out. It's just that on pretty much every short scale thread you get the 'fun' comments. I think we both come to the same conclusion - I've sold one of my long scales too - one more to go. And have ordered a short scale bass build. Can't wait. But that's another story.
  9. Ah sad news. I absolutely loved their first couple of albums and seen them a good few times back in day. RIP.
  10. I'm a relatively recent convert to short scale and I've decided to make the move permanent - it's the most natural size bass for me. Have to add that I find the short scales are fun comments a little misleading (unintentional I'm sure) as it could imply that short scales are novelty or toy basses. All basses can be fun and short scales can be just as bad donkey groove machines as their longer scaled brethren.
  11. Absolutely! I love the simplicity of it. I'm not much of a knob twiddler so less is more. I want to like this bass but the cream pups and white volume knob kill it for me. Looks like a kid stuck them on. A quirky bass for a quirky band I suppose. Not for me though.
  12. How does it compare with the MarkBass?
  13. Lovely looking - and sounding bass! Everything I like about a P is in that tone. Nice playing too!
  14. Nah, not having that. You can't beat gas. Have you considered a custom made P bass? Miles better than a Fender that. (where's the devil emoji when you need it?)
  15. Well I have an awesome Barefaced Super 12 and it's a stonkingly good cab, but I wouldn't go out and buy an upgrade cab for the LB. It might end up sounding better but it's great as is and I don't believe any improvement would justify the spends.
  16. Nah, don't do it. It's a great pairing with that 1x15 cab. Although if you were gigging I would see the sense in that - the cab is heavy.
  17. Said friend still misses this amp greatly. It's pure ear candy. In terms of tone it's easily the best amp I've ever had.
  18. This happens to me occasionally and is always because I've thought about what notes are in the next riff which then comes undone because of uncertainty. The brain just gets in the way - if I had played without thinking then the hands would have been fine.
  19. I'm not much of a Fender fan in general but I do have a soft spot for jazz basses and would absolutely love a year of birth bass. I like the idea of having a cool bass that was the same age as me. Unfortunately only a lottery win or a bank job would get the required funds.
  20. Don't spray it - it's lovely! And I don't usually go for green basses.
  21. Surprised you're moving this on - such a lovely bass.
  22. Love that blue burst flame maple top. What a gorgeous bass!
