1.
He's got very good taste in his choice of football club.
Not sure about that...Fulham have got Ralph McTell, you know!
2. Just done the sleeve note for an upcoming reissue of Road Noise, funnily enough...
3. Great nick, works perfectly, yours for £40 posted. Includes instructions, but no box. Baby blue, four knobs, looks exactly like the other two that have just sold! Let's be 'avin' you...
4. Played a wedding gig last night and got cut off eight times, spoiling things somewhat. I turned down but got quite a lot of the blame from my band members. The light seemed to respond to the A string more than the rest of the spectrum. What frequencies set off these horrible things and apart from wire cutters how can they be beaten?
5.
Am I the only one to do a double take on this ?
Yeah same bloke but wrong spelling! In the 70s he had a hundred pickups made with his name on. They put the intrusive t in and he flung them across the rehearsal room where they lay until people like me 'recycled' them. I joined in a band Brinsley had just left a couple of years ago, but apart from this he seems to have retired from music.

8. You got my vote! But I've got a gig Good luck anyway...
9. Micky Jones Memorial Gigs The life of Micky Jones, guitarist and singer with progressive rockers Man, will be celebrated this September by not one but two memorial gigs. Both take place at the Pontardawe Arts Centre, Swansea, on 3rd and 18th September. The initial show on Friday 3rd September will feature Racing Cars, re-forming for the occasion, plus Sassafras, Edgar Broughton and for one night Micky’s son George’s new band, the appropriately named Son of Man. Saturday 18th at the same venue will see Jones’ long-time guitar partner in man, Deke Leonard, bring his Iceberg ot the stage for an all too rare gig. In support will be the Flying Pigs (a band Micky graced during Man’s 1977-82 hiatus), plus the Green Ray featuring ex-Man bassist Ken Whaley. Many more artists are expected to be announced in for this special event in due time. 10.
..........Mickeyboro....Ask him where the new album is? a Single at the least!
I think the problem is he doesn't own the music - Universal, who have swallowed up half the known world, do, and they (or their accountants) call the shots as to what happens. He played a part, sure, and was quite please with the rarities disc. He reckons next move will be to do a download EP of three songs and thinks the album is now an outmoded concept, so better to do three crackers and hope they are taken notice of. Whether the mighty Universal are interested in new stuff remains to be seen... PS: Anyone want a box set on t'cheap?
11. Hop it goes well. But why the poster of the Labour leadership contenders?
12. Just been talking to MK this morning and he made a joke about it having '24 carat gold knobs' or something! EDIT: Bl**dy h*ll, he wasn't joking!
13. Is a new Jamiroquai song a contradiction in terms?
14. My point was - I wouldn't play a guitar they'd taken my name off! Would you? Edit: My pint was....
15.
Precisions or Precision shaped Laklands?
I am thinking Fenders from where I was sitting (the 'cheap' £65 seats), though the second half one (black with TS scratchplate as opposed to red/black scratch) had a shinier bridge whichcould have been a Badass. I thought Lakland had stopped doing his anyway? Michael, Stills' voice was shot...and he didn't look a well man (unsurprisingly) despite being buoyed by the rapturous reception. They're doing a covers album so did a lot of others' songs - the missus was delighted by 'Behind Blue Eyes' as it combined her two fav bands. By the end they could have been singing 'Agadoo' and they'd have got a standing ovation - those voices...
16. Playing with Crosby Stills & Nash @ Albert Hall. Used two Precisions, one each half, through Ampeg. Played 50% of notes with his thumb, the rest with fingers and one solo with a pick (which he replaced in the peghead without missing a note!) Mmm...tasteful
17. Flawless transaction, can't speak more highly of the man!
18. My pals the Man band had a track used for a Fast Show trailer on BBC. They got nothing financially out of it whatosever...
19. I'm mildly amazed Stevie let a tribute act to him appear on the bill
