Saw a band last weekend and had to move away from the stage when the strobes started. Seemed they put more thought into the light show than the music. And it wasn't a stadium but a bloody car park... We ended up leaving. So these things can have a negative effect on the audience too.

Having spent the last ten months travelling the world on a 'geriatric gap year', I am planning a road trip to the above destinations in August as the unashamedly music-centred finale. Paul McCartney - in Portland, second gig of the world tour. Did I ever tell you I saw the Beatles? Attending the Cream reunion 11 years ago, I was assaulted by a bunch of people taking 'my' picture on smartphones. I turned round to see, in a box behind me, fellow audience members Macca, Heather Mills, Ringo, Barbara Bach and Tom Hanks. By the encore they'd long since disappeared into the night...but I saw the Beatles, all right?! 😆
