The list of bass cabs where the woofers have any kind of crossover on them is quite a short one (Baer, Audiokinesis, some Barefaced, some Bergantino, anything else?)
My EA VL110's have a 3-way crossover. I don't know whether the more recent EA cabs do though.

Slab Bodied Fender Precision - With History
pete.young replied to SlabMan's topic in Basses For Sale
Wally, welcome to Basschat - I expect that bass could tell a few good stories if it could talk. There should be an 'Edit' button at the bottom of the posting - that should allow you a quick edit to add a price, or you can use the Full editor which has a bit more functionality. Edit - I see Johngh has beaten me to it! -
Obscure Musical Backwaters - The Great SGC Nanyo Thread
pete.young replied to Happy Jack's topic in Bass Guitars
Many thanks for posting those pictures Roger, looks like a lovely bass. I've never seen another 801. -
Hm, if remember rightly these have a crossover and a tweeter - maybe the crossover isn't working properly, or something has become disconnected. I used to own a 410 TX years ago and I dimly remember something about a wiring mod, but I can't find the information any more :-(

Think I'll have to rule out Pat Metheny as being for all practical purposes dead, based on his output in the last 10 years. That leaves: Slide guitar - Ry Cooder Acoustic guitar - Alan Prosser Other guitars - RIchard Thompson Drums - Jim Keltner Bouzouki - Donal Lunny Vocals - Bonnie Raitt Accordion - Sharon Shannon The set list is going to take a bit of thought.

Are Stingrays the new Warwicks, price wise?
pete.young replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in Bass Guitars
I think some of you have short memories - 3 or 4 years ago there were several decent 4-string Stingrays going in this forum for 500 - 600 quid and people were bemoaning the fact at the time. At the moment things seem to have picked up a bit. I can't imagine that the new Sterlings are affecting anything, other than the prices of OLP MM2 and MM3 s. There's really no comparison between the new Sterlings and a proper US Musicman. The old original Sterlings, on the other hand, seem just as sought-after. -
BC's new classifieds section - your opinions please
pete.young replied to ped's topic in General Discussion
I think the 'Bump' button is a waste of time because it's too easy to circumvent. A 'Donate' button would be a very good idea, preferrably in a prominent place. Or places. A small charge over a certain limit, or the option of an annual 'selling rights' fee would seem to be the most practical option and the path of least resistance. -

Thanks TG, a couple of good ideas there. The pedalparts one looks pretty good. I can feel a project coming on!

Anyone know of a good circuit or kit for a Pro Co Rat clone?
-
Thanks for the comments and pms (all replied to). To clear a couple of things up: Trades - since the only reason for selling this is to buy another bass, I'm not looking for any trades. Shipping overseas - at the moment, I'd prefer a UK buyer. It's not just the shipping but the inevitable hassles with exchange rate which always seem to mean that I lose out big time. If you are prepared to cover currency charges and arrange your own courier, then send me a PM and we can discuss it. Air fares to the UK are pretty cheap and I will pick you up from Stansted!

I'd like to make bassmanady an offer for his BB NE 2, so I need to put my TRB5P mk 1 up for sale. This is a Japanese TRB5P mark 1 dating from 1991, with Piezo bridge pickup and PJ configuration. Controls are volume, blend, bass, treble, piezo cut and a switch to turn piezo on and off. It's neck-through construction with a flamed maple cap on a maple body and an ebony fretboard. There is a little fret wear but it's hardly noticeable and doesn't affect playability of the instrument. Condition is not perfect - there is one bit of mojo, a scratch on the top side of the body which has gone through the finish, but this isn't visible to either player or audience. Other than that, the bass is in excellent condition for a 20-year-old instrument with no buckle rash and only the usual light surface scratches. Sound wise this is an incredible bass, a veritable tone monster. I tried all three of bassmanady's TRBs and this one was the best-sounding of the three, with stronger lower mids and more presence. It's set up with a low action and passes the Kiwi test (a £1 coin won't fit between the 'B' string and the 12th fret) with new D'Addarios. String spacing is 19mm at the bridge. Unfortunately I don't have the original Yamaha case, but a Thomann tweed case is included. Realistically priced to sell at £500 plus shipping. I'd prefer pickup from Ipswich or London, or a meet-up reasonably local to Ipswich. Here are some photos, if you need more views of anything just ask!
Was there any live Bass with S2S?.....
Don't think there was a bass guitar. All done with synths.

Should be fine. I use a Tecamp Puma 110 as a monitor for me and the drummer, works perfectly.

Bass player by choice, or relegated guitarist?
pete.young replied to Tuono's topic in General Discussion
Relegated? Promoted!! -
You could try an Artec SE3 preamp instead - I've got one in a Bass Collection and it works well.

Has panto season started already?

Very cool. I have a Vintage with the same neck, it plays brilliantly. BTW, if you include the 'IMG Code' rather than the Email/Html link, the pictures will magically appear in the thread. Like this:

EBS Neoline 2x12. I love mine so much I'm going to be buried in it, so it's not for sale.

A delete button would be a great loss. It's very handy to be able to view old For Sale threads in the current forum when you're trying to price an item (for sale or purchase). I'm also guessing that the picture on the forum listings isn't showing up because the picture upload facility doesn't work. An option to make it all smaller would be an improvement: currently on my laptop I can see about 10 listings on the old forum, but only 3 or 4 on the new one.
