1. It does actually say on the product page just under the string gauges that Dunlop strings can't be shipped outside the USA. Same goes for Ernie Ball strings. Most others are OK. It's not BSO fault, it's the particular manufacturer's trade contracts with their overseas dealers that rules it out. Had a couple of PMs with Jason of BSO about it once.
 2.
Cheers Keith & G. it would be a 5-er I'm interested in.
My Prog fretless 5 weighs in at 8lb 5oz in old money.
 3.
This is excellent though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alhbjjD_4-4
That is absolutely feckin' fantastic!! πŸ™Œ
 4. When the lightweight head vibrations became unpleasant for me, instead of turning to further medication I just quit smoking the bongs.
 5.
That's a fair point, but I would estimate that every performer who releases a music video of their single, is not playing live on it, unless stated.
Yes that's true. Because of the busking-like nature of this one, I probably missed that it's their "official" DIY vid if you will. Anyway, who are these girls? All I've read is that they're talented and French. Does anyone know the band's name?
 6.
Get out! Ya joking!.....well i never! i was wondering how they made that cello sound like a double bass near the end, and how i could hear that shaker despite no mics! You'll be telling me that they mime in music video's next!
They mime in music videos. 😝 Yes, Lord Sausage, of course it's obvious. It's just that from the comments above, some people seemed to be missing that bit.
 7.
So what if they are miming? It's not like they are miming to someone else singing !
Well anyone can mime to their own perfect studio track with a few different takes punched together. I'm just not into miming. If they're going to stand/sit there and mime sing and play, they might as well just sing and play. I do like the track but I'll reserve my judgement of how talented they really are until I see them doing it live.
 8. Erm, they're miming, not playing live though y'know. Very good track though.
 9.
As much as I love Wal basses I do agree the headstocks are less than pleasing to the eye. Still want one right enough.
Wal headstocks are one of the very few that I do actually like. Bucket list bass... One day it will be mine... Oh yes.
 10.
Why does it always rain on me? Is it because I lied when I was 17? No, its because your in Scotland
Classic! πŸ˜‚ Now for a serious question.. Does Humor Belong In Music?
 11. https://m.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_550_black_progressive_series.htm?o=14&ref=mal_a_14&search=1440005315 I have the fretless version of this bass. It's blown me away and feels and sounds so good. Β£105!! πŸ™Œ (and it's black. \m/)
 12. The USA subs are wide like USA Stingrays (same bass but with a slab body and cheaper to manufacture finish) If you want a slim jazz neck 'ray it'll have to be a SBMM SUB ray or plump up the dough for a USA SLO special.
 13. Yep. Got so much GAS still for an unlined fretless P since I discovered the YouTube vids of yours WOT, so much that I'm going to get an ebony board fitted on my Squier P5... Crazy? Who cares! (all your fault though πŸ˜‰)
 14.
Few pics of the new 75 J... Unfortunately I missed out on the natural 75 J last night but I did order up a cheeky p bass... It was rude not to really it was less than Β£20 This bass sounds, looks and plays fantastic... I reckon if you reshaped the headstock and wrote Sadowsky on it you'd fool more people than not.
Fair do's that looks lovely mate.
 15.
Ahh... you obviously get yours from Sky.
πŸ˜€πŸ‘
 16.
I had a progressive too and thought it was an excellent bass.... I thought the PJ4 I had was even better aside from the horrendous pickguard. The dekos I have had have made me realise just how good the HB stuff really is.
Well I was going to try a 550fl anyway as I was really impressed with the HB shorty P I bought (at the full massive price of 50 quid πŸ‘) so when my deko came up for 38 quid I just went for it, thinking that even if I do get an unplayable one then even if I could only use the neck it'd be worth it. Playable indeed it is! There is a slight imperfection in the finish around the lower horn but that wouldn't bother me if I'd paid the full 110 for it. It was set up lovely out of the box, the nut cut perfectly for a fretless. Electronics work in both active and passive modes. Weighs 8.4lbs. Very very happy! (for once I haven't ripped myself off and lost money on a bass!) 😜
 17.
Nice! BTW, how do you keep the cushions on the sofa, when you stand it up like that? Mine keep falling off.
We got the anti-gravity add on when we bought our Wi-Fi bundle. 😏
 18. ..recently added a set of D'addario tapewounds and it's sounding and feeling ace. None more black! πŸ˜€
 19. Been thinking the same about my HB-550fl deko, as soon as I remember to pick up a new tape measure I'll measure it's pup dimensions. I have actually toyed with the idea of replacing the neck pup with a spare Squier P5 pickup I have, and adding a cunning bit of all black pickguard to hide the evidence - always wanted a fretless Precision, it's probably my favourite bass tone. Hmmm...
 20. After getting a knackered back due in no short part to gigging an 11lb Fender and equally heavy Stingray in my youth, I wholeheartedly recommend a lighter bass and yoga. Got me straighter.
 21. I'm sure they are fantastic basses, but I feel that us basschatters do seem to stir up a frenzy in each other about new and exciting brands that pop up. See also the Sire threads for instance. I'm sure that once the excitement about acquiring the new must have has subsided, a few folks think - don't need it after all, now I need.. This, instead!! πŸ™Œ ... I think it's just the thrill and cycle of gas taking place and not any "catch" regarding Limelights in particular. (I still "need" a Limelight P that looks like Discreet's old Limelight J, and this coming from someone who only plays 5ers.. I rest my case!)
 22. Sold a set of strings to Chris and he was very nice to deal with. He bought them and was then patient enough to wait until I returned from hols before I could post them. Super easy deal.. Thanks!
 23.
Have really had a good clear-out over the last few months. Now just two basses left, my Fender bitsa and the Squier P5. Everything I need, nothing I don't.
Ditto. Squier P5 and a Harley Benton HB550fl deko - amazing bass for 38 quid 😡 (couldn't bring myself to defret the Squier!)
