1. Cabs we know about, AOm wasn't totally unexpected and certainly more expected than an Ultra version at this point. I think a smaller amp might be in the pipeline myself but Doug has been teasing something microprocessor based for a while. I'd put my money on a microtubes engine-ish preamp with presets (with AO? Maybe would cannibalise the rest of the product range too much for comfort though). Guess we'll have to wait and see! It'll be interesting to see whether he spreads the 4 announcements across the month...
2.
Nasty pop-up that won't go away no matter where I click, asking me to join their mailing list (which I am already subscribed to). Needs more work.
The little x in the top right corner of the pop-up works fine for me...
3.
Good evening Ian, Nut width is a very comfortable 42mm. Are you curious about how good these are ???
Always curious Mike! But light on cash at the minute!
4. These were made in the same factory as the original Lakland 55-01 with same electronics. Wish I had some money at the minute. If I had this would be mine...
5. What's the nut width on this beastie Mike?
6. Not keen on that colour either. I'd return it to the original colour. I'd relic it a little though...
7.
So does that mean the bridge would need to move 4.4cm closer to the neck? Which obviously is quite a lot This is my tester bass to do all these kinda things to it so it isn't one that means loads to me like my G3
Measure nut to 12th fret. That should (I think) be the distance from the 12th fret to center of intonation adjustment range on the bridge.
8. Just to be clear, are the "extra" frets on this new neck on an overhang over the body? If not you've inadvertently changed the scale length of the bass and the frets are in entirely the wrong positions with relation to that. I'd stick the old neck back on and mark this one down as a learning experience as the measures needed to correct the issue are cut the neck pocket deeper into the body (UGLY!) or move the bridge (UGLY!)...
9. geoff90guitar is looking a B3K over on the wanted page
10. Sent you a PM Josh
11. So... How would I configure my X18 to run stereo to a P2, or do I need a fancy lead?
12.
Is this going to be a forever bass? If not you may want to consider the re-sale potential - how many people will want to buy an orange or yellow bass? Most popular colours are likely to be red/ black/ white then probably natural - I'm a green freak personally and know that selling green basses in the past has been an issue.
+1 to this. Unless it's your forever bass both these colours will hurt you when you come to sell. It's not a Dingwall NG2 and won't have the same resale value as one...
13. Best kind of ray! Not a big fan of them as standard...
14.
I can see them... and I keep coming back to check!
Me too... And me too...
15. Keep coming back to look at this...
16.
In the subject of correct grammar, getting your capital letters in the right place is important too, especially if you want to help your uncle Jack off a horse.
You git... Now my monitor is covered with tea...
17. Can't you just set the app that you're playing bass into to operate in background mode? I'm using Jamup Pro on iPad for something similar.
18.
New 'Alpha Omicron' on the way! https://www.talkbass.com/attachments/photo-8-19-17-1-04-13-am-png.1555823/
Was close on an AO... Will probably buckle on this one... ... If I haven't sold the lot to buy a helix that is...
19.
I Have!
And?
20.
"it's rubbish" IS a critique of it's condition, what else could it be, sheesh now you tell me what I mean? the dude asked for opinions, I gave mine. You gave yours. Why attack me?
At best your comment was incomplete... at worst, well this is a family show...
21. I've wanted one of these for SO long but I'm not in a position to buy at the minute. GLWTS!
22. Funny I was just looking on ebay for a Fenix Jazz bass yesterday! A lot of what is wrong with that bass is just cosmetic. The nut is the only real issue (possibly the tuners but if they still function then they're fine). New nut, fresh set of strings and you're off to the races. Granted if you can't carry out any work required yourself you may be cheaper buying a Harley Benton off Thomann. But this will sell, and will contribute to the price of a new one if that's the way you want to go. Part it out. Body and neck, even in their current state, will be worth something to somebody.
23. Very nice Ped... I'm a little jealous!
24.
The 'Tanglewood' link seems to be wrong. Here's a good'un ... Tanglewood Elfin Mini-bass ...
£137!!!
