1. Make an offer is dangerous... Mine!
2. Just had a message from seller. Original power supply is included. Tempted...
3. Yeah, just shows the big empty space in the box!
4. Aren't these supposed to ship with a power supply?
5. At the minute? £950 would be nice...
6.
Just back from a trip to Moffat to pick up a new bass. ACG recurve 5. What can I say, plays easy, sounds great and looks amazing.
Snap! One of the best instruments I've ever layer hands on!
7. Haven't seen one of those in a long time!
8. Think it was last year that Fieldy didn't tour with Korn (new child). His dep? Ryan Martinie, formerly of Mudvayne... Just a bit of a step up in the bass department... And then there was Trujillo the younger (aged 12)...
9. The clips sound bloody awful...
10.
Awesome value here for a Dingwall bass. I miss mine. Have a bump and GLWTS
11. Great price. This won't last long.
12.
Is that price from Mesa themselves? If it is, you could read the specs of the side of the transformer and try to buy a replacement from Farnell, RS or the like. (Input V, VA, output(s) V, VA etc. It's a toroidal transformer I think? I think it might be cheaper but certainly worth a try. Frank.
Hopefully the specs ARE printed on it - a quick google for Mesa Walkabout Guts shows a pic from "that other well known bass forum" (https://www.talkbass.com/threads/amp-guts-photos-official-thread-lets-see-those-pics.513929/page-32) with specs printed on the side of the transformer, just not clear enough to make them out!
13. You could probably have someone wind one locally cheaper than that. If you can find the specs of the original one that is.
14. Jeez for a minute there I thought I'd wandered onto TB by mistake...
15. If you've had hands on it you're a step ahead of the rest of us. Only question that matters - Do you like it enough to pay what is being asked?
16. The TH350 uses the same amp module as a lot of the 500 watt class D amps (b&o icepower 125asx2). It maybe doesn't have the fancy power management/compression handling of some other 500w heads, but it'll be roughly in that ballpark volume-wise.
17.
Nice bass!
18. Thanks guys! It's the total opposite of my ACG 5 in terms of simplicity. None the worse for it might I add.
19. Beautiful! I wish I got on with Jazz basses...
20. That's pretty dire...
21. I think Josh is narrowing his product range. His first release was the P15 - little B15 preamp in a box. He's done a lot of custom building over the last year, including other valve pre designs. Some really interesting stuff.
22.
Bought a Helix LT this weekend (Absolute were doing a stupidly good 0% 24 months finance deal and a good price). I got them to get it out of stores for a gander and my other half said, "Just buy it...here's the deposit". :-) Patched to the latest spec, just got to find the time to actually set it up now.
Why can't I find this deal online?! A conspiracy I say!
23.
I've played/owned several really nice basses, but sold them to fund....oh god, i'm sorry....drums.
It's OK man. You're home now.
24. I'd be looking at setup/strings/nut for your issues. Wouldn't be swapping out pickups or adding a pre without that as the issue could remain. Also I'd question whether you need a pre for the flexibility you're after. Pick tone and motown sound are both achievable with a P pickup and tone control. Add in bridge pickup and maybe a switchable EQ curve (pedal) and you're sorted.
