  4. Not for a valve amp. Solid state, maybe. An inefficient driver would be the ticket. I've yet to try the CTM15 unfortunately. Mad, mad busy the last few weeks... And I keep forgetting it's under my desk at work!!!
  5. Ah I see, not so big an issue then!
  6. You should try your hand at politics...
  7. I don't think I'm misunderstanding anything. What you refer to as a reality is an opinion. One I wholeheartedly disagree with based on my own experience of working for multinational corporations. None of them make guitars but that's beside the point. I'm certainly not misunderstanding you calling me stupid because I don't agree with you. We can discuss your emotional maturity at length if you want, but I'm not sure this is quite the right place!
  8. Didn't miss it, but if it was an issue at all wouldn't you have addressed it? Would have "done my napper in" as they say round here!
  9. I think if everybody in the world played a Gus G3 you'd use a Fender just to be different...
  10. Same broken record BRX...
  11. Apologies Alan. I did find the video thought provoking. My first thought was how come Alan doesn't charge more?... I say that fully acknowledging the irony of it considering our recent email conversation!
  12. "for example Fender making "cheap" guitars (branded as Squier) in Japan created jobs and helped to raise the standard of living in Japan to the extent that they moved production to Korea, then to China, then to Indonesia, then to Vietnam, in each case creating a new population of skilled workers earning more than they earned before, and now capable of pushing ahead without further investment from abroad." You wrote that, did you not? What were we to take from that?
  13. Don't go to see Justice League. It's a bit poo...

A bit poo, or really poo?

Wasn't Gal Gadot able to save things with her amazing thunderous thighs???

  14. So what you're saying is these manufacturers move production from countries like Japan to countries like Indonesia to help the Indonesian economy? And you think the guy in the video is being naive? I'd say he's not the only one. What you describe is a side effect of companies chasing the lowest cost of production. Plain and simple. As soon as it becomes cheaper to produce guitars to certain standards and schedules and in the required quantities elsewhere in the world, a corporation will move production because the bottom line profitability is all that matters to them. It would be nice to think they're moving production from country A to country B just to help out all the B population, but that is rose tinted viewing at best. I've seen it in every company I've ever worked for, current one especially.
  15. I thought you'd gone all TalkBass on us! Edit: @Al KrowRound here, mates don't get on like this. We're far more abusive! Last place I worked an American chap joined the team and spent the first few months thinking everybody hated each other! He went on to coin the phrase "things you'd never hear in an American office!".

@discreet - if HMRC find you, tell them you're a millionaire, and your official residence is in the Channel Islands! ;)

  17. I could see pics earlier, but can't now... And yes these are awesome. Edit. and now I can see the pics again. Very odd.

  19. Anywhere else I'd agree. Neck plate is fine as you can swap it.
  20. I went to £35 quid because I'm a tight-wad. It might be a 20p fix, or a £300 fix. Might be good for spares as buying from Mesa is no longer financially viable IMO
  21. Guy local to me is trying to sell a first run Sire for £650 notes because Marcus Miller signed the neck plate. He signed a thousand of them though, so just how collectible is that? Certainly raised a chuckle from me...
  22. My phone has auto-corrected to worse things than that in the past!!!
  23. This topic is not helping my Mustang GAS by the way...
  24. Nothing unreasonable in what you're saying - same thing has annoyed me, on and off, for years. It's a buyers market at the minute, making these folks seem even more "misguided". What some people deem as upgrades or improvements can be quite laughable. The fact is that folk like this have always existed, it just seems like there are more of them because, you know, internet...
