1. I live in Holland, like UK most small quality shops are closing down with companies like Bax and Key Music taking over. Bax is not like Thomann. Thomann is a family owned business that became huge through performance, Bax is small in comparison and has a lot to prove over a long period of time before a comparison can me drawn. I order at Bax now and again, from a EURO perspective they are not cheaper than Thomann; I expect the cost benefit will be short lived if the GBP to EURO changes. Forex is currently a big part of the low price points and they want to try and carve out a niche for themselves in Europe which they can only do in so many ways. Personally I think they are ok, no more no less and prefer Thomann. More choice, better CS, longer reputation, more in stock etc etc.
2. GK RBs are amazing, probably best Watt per £ on BC currently.
3. Open to trades, filters, delays, synths mainly bump.
4. Cort make great basses, I had an old 4 string fretless that sounded soooooo sweet.
5.
Isn't it down to the person who arranged the courier to give money back and chase said courier? did you organise OP or was it the seller?
That's what I'd think too...
6. Depends on song, it helps if you cut it into chunks and excercise it until your fingers 'do the thinking' and then move on. Some songs I just need to listen to, it took me ages to pick up all the particulars of some Metallica or Mastodon songs. Average probably 20-30 minutes.
7. Bumpage, price is right, looper is better!
8. Wonder how Clarkson would pronounce the name..... Mare whoos chick
9. .. just because it is Damien Hirst splattering paint on a bass, doesn't make it art nor does it guarantee any rise in price down the line. But hey, if someone is mad enough... free country and such.
10. Ridiculous, Flea just give some of the 100 million or so you have to charity and stop acting like you swallowed too many wacky pills this morning.
11. Up for grabs is my trusted Gigrig Quartermaster 6. Best compact loop switcher on the market, by a long way. This one is about 3 years old and I am only letting it go as I have bought an upgraded version. It is in used, but very decent nick. You will not be disappointed! Price includes shipping within Western-Europe. Pics on request.
12. The Serial matches as well, it's my old one..... Wouldn't mind having it back, but cannot justify it in any way.... GAS, be gone.
13. I believe I may have owned this bass a few years back, it ended up in France, maybe it is the same spec as the one I sold. Regretted selling it for a long time, truly excellent bass. GLWTS! 17. Pretty sure the folks at Smoothhound would send you some, Customer Service seems very good.
18. Strings are quite complex, always a chance that the core and wrap wires are not perfect...... It happens. Every 10 sets or so I encounter the same.
