  1. I had one and it was just brilliant. I couldn’t find a use for it so moved it on, but it was far better than the squier vi I owned previously.
  2. To be fair, some years ago I worked for a 'well-known' Hi-Fi retailer that simply did this as part of its standard practice. It was always inwardly mortifying every time I had to answer the phone and knowingly lie about availability. That (and the fact the commission scheme essentially promoted dishonesty) is why I left in the end. I'm sure its all changed these days though.
  3. That attitude from the shop is just outright unacceptable and rude. Hope it’s all ok when you get it.
  4. Like the snow in a Victorian Christmas scene: deep and crisp and even.
  5. Early 90s with ‘Scream’ and early/mid 00s with Double Cross. Good times. Still got the jazz bass and bassmaster funk. (Albeit in need of repair!)
  6. Just bought some pickups. All good very pleased and no drama.
  7. Ahh me old mate Benn. We played in bands together for years since we were just wee little tinkers way back when. I do miss him.
  8. I owned the MLB1DH I thought it looked gorgeous. It played well and sounded ace, but really needed a preamp. The fretting wasn’t the best quality and even my go to guy couldn’t fix the buzz on one fret. It was lovely, but something about it felt off. Like it was made more cheaply than it appeared. That said, I’d own one again.
  9. Indeed
  10. Yeah, 2021 limited run
  11. I briefly owned this stunner, but returned it when I realised it really was 99% identical to my older SR1200, just prettier. It was waaay too much money to justify keeping for such a marginal change. One day I’ll own one again though I hope.
  12. Snap! I have the same board and psu (cable tied underneath). I’m very pleased with it, although I don’t expect the soft case to last long. The zip feels a bit iffy.
  13. Absolute star. A total credit to basschat and a pleasure to deal with. 🙂 Genuine legend.
  14. I was thinking the same thing. I was sure mine did at the time, but it was a loooong time ago.
  15. Me too
  16. Thanks for posting this, I was nervous about buying anything before the 2022 range was revealed in case there was something awesome. But it’s much the same.
  17. Cheers. Thanks loads for that, I’ve spotted it. Sadly an unexpected expense and covid cancelled corporate gigs took half the money I’d saved
  18. I’ve owned a sterling sub Ray, a Ray 34ca and several ebmm stingrays, including a stunning ‘92 and a piezo model. I currently own no Ray at all, for similar reasons to those already given. They held more value as a trade in than as a gigging bass for me. That said, I do find myself drawn to them again. Albeit at a bad time, as the prices have gone a bit nuts on them. Especially given how close the sbmm range gets to the ‘real deal’. Tbh, I would take the itch scratching as pretty much the only reason to change.
  19. Oh. My. It’s. Perfect! I love it!
  20. I’ve had a big change this year, returned to gigging on bass after several years off, but my newly covid-ravaged body couldn’t manage my old basses and rig. Subsequently, my entire setup has changed this year. But if I had to pick just one thing that’s spoken to me the most, it would be the lovely SR1200 (and switching to IEMs!). The worst was the Jackson spectra that preceded the Ibanez, the build quality was shocking. I was really disappointed.
  21. Seeing that weight makes me glad I didn’t pull the trigger now ! Enjoy 😊
  22. I no longer own the sr300, but the other two are real gig warriors now.
  23. I used the harmony singer for years. Frankly, it’s brilliant. Used sparingly it really lifts a performance.
