[/quote] I went to see them a few years ago at the NIA and they certainly didn't seem to me to have died as a live band. While I hadn't seen them live with the original line-up, I have seen many recordings of them and although they have changed, I don't think that they've lost much from those early days, and I don't think that Pino's playing in any way detracts from them.

That critique seems rather at odds with the original article, as they powered a Bluetooth keyboard with it (which presumably is a more complex circuit of the sort that the poster says wouldn't play well with the Batteriser). Seems to me that it would be appropriate in a medium current application - a battery in a TV remote would probably last for pretty much its shelf life, ditto an electro-mechanical clock, and for high current drains, rechargeables would be a better solution. Which means that I don't think I have anything in the house that would benefit - a few remotes, three or four electromechanical clocks, and at the other end of the scale, a Variax, Line 6 wirelesses, Zoom Q2HD, MS-60B, B3, digital camera (which I always use Eneloops in). Actually, thinking about it, it might come in useful for this wireless keyboard and mouse I'm using right now.

IIRC, Pride by U2, although simple, has the bass changing where the guitar doesn't and that can be a little misleading. One, also U2, allows the bass a bit more freedom of expression.

Must admit to not having had a close look at the tuner/bridge assembly. It's a different design to Steinberger or ABM, I think - it's like a rather more compact and sophisticated version of the Warwick Nobby Meidel tuning system, or the Kramer Duke system, so it's actually four worm-drive tuners on their sides laid front-to-back and turning a peg with a hole in that takes a normal string end (the strings in the Ebay auction are single ball end), while I think the Steinberger/ABM system is a screw going through a block with a hole in that takes a ball end.

You could buy a headless bass kit from Ireland off That Ebay - £120, includes hardware. Or if you wanted to go to Gravesend to pick it up, someone's flogging one already made up for £50 start.

The GK Neo 112 IIs have a speakon and a jack. I used them with a Puma 900 by running speakon-speakon into the first cab, then jack-speakon from the first to the second cab.

Run the XLR on the B2.1 to his mixer. It'll be at roughly mic level.

We use Alto TS2As - replaced the Wharfedale wedges I was using because they're less than half the weight, make a pretty good noise, and Mrs Zero and I can always use them on their own for a PA if we do acoustic gigs.

Bless 'im [/quote] On one of our Munich trips, playing with a gradually disintegrating drumkit supplied by the venue, the drummer had to tie the kit together to stop it migrating. And some other drummer had nicked the drum stool, so he finished up using a snare drum soft case with a fleece in it to add a bit of height to a small stool.

[/quote] On Friday night, we played to an audience that through the first half consisted of upwards of fifty 18 year olds in fancy dress who'd been drinking since lunch time. They loved it, including songs like "I saw her standing there", "Pretty woman", and "Shakin' all over". All very well behaved - right up in front of us dancing (no stage, we were at floor level) but respecting the line of the monitors as their boundary. Quite surreal watching Shrek, Princess Fiona, Sleeping Beauty, and all sorts of others leaping up and down to "One Way or Another". Your 20-year-olds are obviously defective and you should return them for a refund.

You've taken the first step - next, get along to a bass bash if there's one local to you and try everything out, and see if that gets you started with GAS.
