1. Nick, still want the PG made? Not heard from you for a while.
2. ^^^^ ^^^^ Actually that is not a surprise. Good old Fender....
3. Wildo, I'm not sure why they are doing so many Sig basses..... IMO they all fall short of Pino's sig P... (Hideous colour, but F***kin amazin' otherwise!)
4. Bugger the Warwicks .... Who's the spotty Kitty in your avatar? and has the dame with it got a screw loose? or has the cheetah been out on the pop the night before! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ __ PS the headless is hideous the new LX is nice, as is the $$, ::: the semi? - Every body jumping on the band waggon? I'm sure it plays well but are we not getting a tad swamped by new stuff?
5. Fender seem to be signing up all the artists they can, and getting endorsement deals all over the place..... Another way of getting us all hooked...... Discuss.....
6.
Me too! Black black maple 5 string.... hooray!
hey I wonder if we buy in bulk we can get a discount.....?
7. Go for it for reason 1 above..... It may take a little time to get the 'rigth ones' for your tone but changing speakers aint rocket science. Having an amp that you can get around and are happy is worth its weight in..... well expensive heavy stuff... You may just end up with an ass kicking combo custom made by you for you....
8. ^^^ urrm you can order it with black.... I may just be doing that. I desperately wanted a Clover 5 beofre these came out..... Now its a P 5 blk/blk maple neck; and its a wider neck than the Clover..... BLISSS..... Sign me up!
9. Wait and save your dosh..... Try the Bose and if you dont like 'em you can send 'em back for a full refund...... I wanted to hate mine and send them back..... I genuinely did, as I wasnt prepared to believe the hype.... Tell you what they blew me out the water, unfortunately they ARE that good. Now if they could get a decent bass repsonse with the L1 without having to use 2 bass units I'd consider one of them just for the space saving, however at the mo my Mesa is LOADS smaller, with better tone and more power so..... Sorry Bose not quite there yet....
10. Being a believer in (within reason) tweaking stuff to make it fullfill your requirements I say "go for it" The fact you are well attached to teh unit means a lot. If teh new amp fits in then do the speakers. +. you can leave it set up. no lugging lots pf cables around. you can lug it in your car easily. with careful selection you put in new speakers that will get the best out of it. You could end up with a Mean fother muckin' custom built combo.... -. You have to lug the whole thing 'round even for practice. It may not as excellent as an off the shelf set up straight away.... (you may need to experiment a bit!) It wont have a specific 2ndhand value as it does now (not that that should be a porblem)
11. Owned the Hohner played them both..... My problem with them is they are a skinny neck (1.5" at the nut) like a J bass. If you like that you'll love 'em. Feel a bit weird at first and definately easier playing standing that sitting. Hohners (all models) still avaialble in the US but not here. Spirit feels nicer in some way but not sure how, both play well. You are limited a bit with strings on the Hohner but the Spirit can use double ball end or single ball end so you can use whatever strings.... (MASSIVE bonus). The Hohner (passive) benefits from stronger pups but other than that they are pretty damn good....... And very 80's....
12. Dyno-Rod... AA..... Coca-Cola.... vans.
13. The pedal isnt tho'
14. ^ spot-on..... I took it for granted that was understood..... but you are of course correct to add that!
15. As far as I'm aware all Celinders are pretty damn special...... Oh, and as for personal preferance and taste..... It would be a VEY sad world if we all liked the same things eh?
16. Sadly I'd say they are right looking at Gibson/Epi webby reveals both makes only available in Sunburst NOW, they may have been avaialable in white in the past but it wouldnt seem they are at the minute.
17. Looks like a Peavey under that awful paint so if its cheap it should be OK!
18. Thomann can do it for £160 sent... (stomp 2) If you can do one for less than £150 I'm in......
19. Where its still warped up and leaving a gap..... Stick a couple of plectrums there to make it look like you keep spares there.... Its a rock guitarist thing but hey why not......!
20. I believe this is the first time I've said this....... but.... The case is prettier than the bass! Thats sure is one ugly fother mucker!
21. If you have a deep enough socket so you dont mark the posts use it. They want to be snug, so finger tight an then 1/8 turn to nip them up or they will come undone again. Not too tight or you will imprint the washers on the headstock wood, and not tight enough and the tuner post guide will put undue stress on the plate into which it is attached.
22. Does it have (I'm not familiar with this amp) seperate input volumes? Maybe ths would be better in amps or even DHA ask the expert?
23.
hot A.I.R. technology?
Yamaha are pretty good and make genuine efforts to forward products and production. Not all of these are well received or actually as good as they'd like them to be ...... But dont knock 'em 'till you've tried it.... You may be very surprised!
24. gnb.... A few other makers have tried chambered basses (which is what the AIR is) to varying dgerees of success. You can guarentee with Yamaha that it wil be a good instrument that plays way above its cost.... However wether or not the AIR is what you want or floats your boat, you wont know til you play it and preferably plugged in! Good luck and let us know what its like...!
