1. Oil or wax...... Dont try to mix them (bit like beer and wine)....... if you intend to wax it, then get a GOOD cleaner like PRS or Ernie Ball to get rid of the grubs, then let it dry thoroughly.......... then a nice layer of new wax, and play away until it gets ful of grubs again and repeat above
2. Are you sure its Vol Vol Tone?
3. As much as normal Parker designs are too far off the wall for my delicate tastes.... That one floats my boat.....! :brow:
4.
I should have. I bought this about 12 months ago from PMT in Birmingham and they will have records of the sale etc and I probably still have the receipt somewhere. Are you sure its transferrable? Thanks Steve
Steve, its not transferable in the UK, which is an absolute pi55er... I checked with the importer! that being said mine was a year old when I got it and it still sings like a beauty.... The transferable warranty is for US models in the US...... If you contat Mesa they just refer you to teh importer....
5. I guess it depends on what finish you wnat to end up with/ keep.....! I would personally steer clear of the products you mention as they are steeped in man made yukkies...! Gunstock oil, lemon oil, if you want an oil finish. Good quality beeswax if you want a wax finish. Leave it and wipe off if you want an 'au natuaral' finish.
6.
I wouldn't be surprised if ebay had some rules about 'rifles'...
Oddly, No. But try to sell parts of real guns that you are allowed to sell ( which I have done!) and they get very arsey, and you have to appeal and justify it.... Mucking fuppets......!
7. D Lloyd....... BC Arborologist....! We're not worthy....
8. What is a RIFFLE? I guess its a typo....
9. Fender range a let down? That P 5 is sooo bad I'm ordering one.....!
10. Chris... PM.... Bob.
11. Damn I've had some good nites in there but wont be there then..... Sorry to miss out .... break a leg....!
12. `I think you are getting a bit confused..... if the fretted 12 is 1 Octave higher than the open string, the Harmonic at the 12th should be 1 octave higher (exactly) than the open string if the setup is correct. You can, and should be able to get this with a bit of patience. Once the Harmonic is exactly the same as the fretted 12th then you can tune by that method (my preffered now) Variation in the fretted 12th tone can be caused by your fretting technique! I now tune across the neck open and then set (intonate) the harmonic at the 12th fret. You should then find that the fretted 12th is pretty close. A good solid bridge and decent strings and they will be both come together. +or- <1 cent is acceptible. Occasionallly strings will have to bed in a little (loose thier initial strech) before they match perfectly.... IME of course. Does that make sense?
13. "etc.. any ideas on a good budget 5 stringer?" we have to be rude and ask what the budget is? Budget to you may mean something different to others....
14. Similar to our 'bog oaks' here in Lincolnshire..... I bet they could tell a few tales.... "Well the first 15thousand years lying around in a swamp were pretty boring but, next 15 thousnad years whizzed past!"
15. Just to keep it fair and balanced I use these..... http://www.ultimateear.com/music.htm (I may well be investing in moulded inserts for my Bose IEs now I know tey make them!)
16. Sounds to me like its time to venture into 5 strings..... Maybe rather than two basses just get the 5string version of your current beast...... then you'll have all basses covered...... ('twas a cheapo shot but I had to take it!)
17. ^ Undoubtedly!
18. There was a 2nd hand Mesa Walkabout scout on here a few days ago..... 300W of juicy Valve preamp and MOSFET poweramp. A 12" eminence speaker that will upset your drummers hearing and a tone to die for! It aint cheap but for a Mesa it is. You wont want anythng else after you tried it!
19. A fish and chip shop?
20. For the same money you might be better off with one of these.... IBANEZ EDB550-WNF Available at Thomann for the same as the Rockbass. Far better quality then both that you mention and probably more versatile. Or maybe a 2nd hand Fender Highway 1 Jazz.... All with the caveat of my opinion....
21. £650 is great price for that..... I'm sure it wont last long at that price.....
22. Sounds like you need a Fender Highway 1 P bass... You'll have massive cred with your band. Oh and welcome to the fold.....
23. James yes I might be, any chance of a pic of them to show how 'pick marked they are please?
24. No probs..... you still want me to look at that spare bridge you have......?
25. Humm great story, and just goes to illustrate how simple things can make such a difference..... Glad its sorted.....
