1. Got a set of the green ones on at the moment and have had no issues with the coating coming off or the tone. I only use fingers and have had them on for a good few months. Look really cool under most lighting.
 2.
RATM tribute: Radge Against The Machine. Formed in 2011, we stopped in June 2014 when our singer decided to quit. We haven't found anybody suitable since. From time to time we look... and next Monday we are auditioning a guy who seems very promising, we'll see!
Saw you guys at the newcastle 02 academy a few years ago I think (was a tribute band night with the Rawmones and the Reet hot chilli peppers), was a great gig and you guys sounded awesome. Sucks that your singer quit, hope you find someone again soon!
 3.
If anyone is in the North East I recommend Downcast and Sounds Inc. There's one in Heaton we use (Not naming names) which is pretty dire. However the two I mentioned are great with Downcast having a well stocked fridge and supplies!
+1 for downcast, really good rehearsel room with a really friendly owner. They also do recording too if I remember rightly.
 4.
Fair enough. Will report back after I come back from the gig. Not exactly overwhelmed with it to be honest. Edit: Also forgot to mention it, I'd taken along my JCM 800 to use instead but was told not to use it because I was going to use the OBT. Not sure what to make of this, thoughts?
Yeah fingers crossed you have a better experience mate. Show the rest of the bands what metal is!
 5.
Was that "Heartrock" by any chance?
Happens with most promoters from my experience but I do remember doing a few with them yeah.
 6.
We're playing the Telegraph, heart rock is the promoter. I'm used to loaning out gear as I do it for my youth gigs that I run with City Youth Music up in Jesmond, but not gear that I'm gigging with. I know that feeling all too well. It's not great.
Did gigs for them twice and both times the promoter turned up and set the gig up but then left soon after and saw no sight of him the rest of the night, until he came to collect the money for the tickets we sold of course. There was also no "promoting" as such, didnt see any flyers or anything just a facebook page. Not having a go at the promoter and it has been almost 2 years since I last played a gig with them so they may have changed, but it wasn't the best. I never lend gear out now and luckily my current band understand and respect my decision.
 7.
Truthfully not much, apparently a promoter is coming down to possibly give us a support slot with someone. (Promoter can be trusted, I know the guy. He's honest) Would like to point out my guitarist is pushing me to loan gear out. I'm fine with loaning cabs out, if I'm using them as I'm pretty responsible with gear, but this has fail written all over it.
Hey dude I was in your position about 1 year ago. Doing the same kind of gigs in the same area and the amount of times I would turn up to a gig like this and because I had decent gear, the promoter would just assume that I was going to let all the other bands use it. I don't like lending gear out as I don't like the idea of using someone elses gear and it breaking, but my band at the time were really forceful like your guitarist is ("Just lend it this once") and it would happen frequently. Its not a great feeling and if I was you I would stand your ground and stick to your guns. Used to always do those kind of gigs at the three tuns in Gateshead, always a really weird mish mash of different genres and you would just end up playing to the few friends you had brought down and the bar staff.
 8. Welcome to the forum. Its never to late to become a wielder of the low end warrior.
 9. My 2 active basses don't have a passive switch, so can't be that common ^_^

 12. I am reluctantly selling my Trace Elliot 1x15 cab. This cab has served me well for the last couple of years, but as it is an old Trace Elliot cab it does weigh a bit and I have now purchased a combo. If anyone is interested I can post photos, but this is more like a feeler as its taking up room and my wife is nagging me Looking for £100 for it, I am based in Newcastle upon Tyne and unfortunately I don't drive so collection only or if you want to set up/pay for a courier then would be willing to post. Any questions just ask. Thanks Shaun
