I was there and didn't see any. That said I missed Candi Staton and didn't get close enough to see Elton's bassist. Usual Fenders with the odd Rickenbacker everywhere else. Rob Mullarkey was sounding great with Louis Cole on his Wilcock shorty, and Thundercat was excellent with his signature 6. Also pleased to see the Nova Twins bassist rocking a pair of old Westone Thunders!

They did, this one https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/FR800.htm

The Don Felden version is the same as the original, I reckon. 8 bars until the proper drums come in, then 2 bars before the vocal.

Yep, this makes it very clear:

Isn’t this quite common with old Fenders? You’re expected to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod.

Based on scale length, isn’t the Blackstar a good bit shorter than the Ibanez? If I was looking for a compact bass for travel, etc. that would be the deciding factor.

I use the EXL170BT balanced tension set on my 4 strings. They seem to be still around, at Strings Direct and Amazon, for example.

Good enough for this guy

Just had the pleasure of meeting Ian when he collected a pair of cabs from me. Nice guy, had a good chat, easy transaction... top basschatter!

I’d seriously consider that Sterling if I hadn’t shifted to a 5-string. I heard one being played in a rootsy rock band recently and it sounded really good. I don’t reckon it’s a roasted neck though. Too light in colour. Also the serial checker doesn’t list it as roasted.

Time to post this one again - nobody seems to be able to identify them

Mine comes on after 20 mins or so no matter how loud I am playing (or not) and never seems to turn off again. Contacted Aguilar and they said it was normal.

I’m pretty sure the HB1 is reversible, so you can remove the key. But I don’t know if you can get a lollipop replacement. I would email Hipshot and ask them. I’ve found them to be helpful in the past.

Any suggestions for a 1 x 8" cab for practice?
pineweasel replied to Bass Culture's topic in Amps and Cabs
Phil Jones C2 maybe? Not a 1x8 but sounds ideal for the job. -
I have a 3 or 4 pedal setup, and planning to use a small plastic chopping board, cut down to exactly accommodate them.

The branding decals - stickers, really - are the only blemish in their otherwise high quality, in my view. Several letters of my “California” fell off and while they also sent me a free replacement, it shouldn’t have happened. I wish they used water slide decals like almost every other manufacturer.

Sandberg Lionel/Superlight - Any Users Out There?
pineweasel replied to Lozz196's topic in Bass Guitars
I have a sub-7lbs TM5 Superlight which is a fabulous instrument. The only downside is that the soft body wood picks up marks easily. -
It’s the best left handed selection from Fender that I can remember. Choices at all price levels with some interesting colours available too. A five string option would be welcome.

I have a TM5 Superlight, weighing just under 7lbs. Neck dive isn’t a problem for me. On a strap it balances very well; sitting on my knee it’s slightly neck heavy, like most other Fender type designs. String spacing is adjustable from 18 to 19.5mm.

Hardly "mass produced". Electric Wood never had more than a handful of employees, and for most of their history only one or two. I bet production never exceeded 10 a week even at their peak in the 80s.
