1. I have had most success with companies via Twitter. Although posting on their Facebook page is worth doing. Linking to this thread is worth doing too. All publicly of course.
2. There is quite a number of videos of Victor Wooten on YooToob with a fair amount of cock ups. Everybody messes up from time to time.
3. My justification is that I like having nice things.
4. Back when I had a jazzman I had a similar issue and found that the pole pieces were just too close to the strings. Adjusting the pickup height sorted this right out.

6.
probably the easiest member to replace in any band is the rhythm guitarist, 10 a penny
This.
7. That's going to be rather classy looking. Look forward to seeing it progress
8.
Have you considered guitar? Strings are zingy & cheaper.
Yes. however it turns out I'm even worse at that.
9.
Next time you have a little money for strings, try flatwounds. They don't suffer from this issue. Though they don't sound like roundwounds either.
Yeah...the reason I was boiling them was because they sounded like flats instead of rounds. The moment a string loses its zing I feel the need to replace it
10.
Someone who spends more time on forums or watching Youtube demos of gear than they do practising their instrument?
Again, that describes me...
11. I used my ACG at a gig the same day I got it because I was so excited to use it. Part of me is glad I did and another part of me realised very quickly that it takes at least a few days to properly figure out how to use a filter preamp that has 6 different tone control knobs.
12.
Unfortunately I'm the other end of the country. If you ever pass you are welcome to try my Elwood 4a.
Thanks for the offer I'm headed down Birmingham on Sunday but still quite a way away unfortunately!
13. Sorry to be a bit cheeky with this post but I've became rather curious about the Maruszczyk Elwood 5 string basses over the last few weeks to the point where I'm actually considering selling my Dingwall to get one but I've never actually played one. Are there any owners near Glasgow/surrounding areas who would let me try theirs? Normally I wouldn't ask but I don't know how else I could try one and I don't really want to sell a bass to fund it then realise I don't like them! Will provide biscuits. Thanks Cameron
14. To be fair, except from the odd few questions most of them are rock bands as opposed to metal... ...that's my excuse and I'm sticking by it.
15. Lightweight gear and five strings... I guess I'm modern.
16.
Is it me, or is it increasingly a problem with a lot of modern rock bands? I'm basing a lot of this on groups who are "breaking through/on the way up" that I've seen live (and not knowing their studio albums in many cases), but I've found a lot of them sound like they're repeating themselves after the second song. (Or am I just turning into a grumpy old git?)
I find this is a common thing when I see a lot of new bands. I often can't really distinguish much differences other than the key of the song.
17. I can't say there are any. When new (to me) music is easily predicted I generally lose interest after the first listen.
18. I know this is the Warwick thread but that Mayones is gorgeous!
19.
Are you in a band? If not join one now!
Yup. Playing with other musicians is one sure way to improve your playing. As well that, it's bloody good fun if you get in a band with people who you get on with. Three years isn't a huge amount of time to become super proficient on an instrument as Douglas said. There has been the odd time where I was a bit fed up with it but found that giving it a break for a week or so, or trying things completely new and out my comfort zone.
20.
I am not metal at all, whatever my score might turn out to be. Apart from anything else, how metal is taking BBC quizzes online? When the pubs are open, even.
I done the quiz whilst in a pub...I didn't do very well though. So I'm confused about where I stand here!
21. 7/10. I am a huge fan of metal music but mostly more modern stuff so the black Sabbath and iron maiden questions would.obviously throw me off.
22. I don't know much about P-basses (infact about as close to bugger all as you can get) but I imagine the three that Dannybuoy suggested will be the three that keep popping up in the suggestions here.
23. I've saw quite a few bands do the same thing. To me the only members you couldn't get away with it would be the drums and vocals.
