1.
If it had a fifth string I would have
This was my thought when I played it. And probably why my recurve is worryingly similar specs!
2. Easily the nicest 4 string bass I've ever played. Best of luck with the sale
3. I'm yet to find a Yewtube video with over 30 comments and no arguing.
4. I've had this issue with a Payson string I had. Seemed to be a fault with the string. Do what Hobbayne said
5. I love Warwicks (having played them exclusively for about 50% of my time as a bass player) but their pricing is crazy. When I was really bored one night I decided to spec a bass up to get it as close to the spec of my ACG as possible to see how much it would cost. It came to around the price of almost 4 ACGs. When you consider the several things that Warwick wouldn't be able to do (preamp and pickups are unique).

7. Not in order - Chon - Grow Intervals - The Shape of Colour Sikth - Opacities Tesseract - Polaris Veil of Maya - Matriarch Agent Fresco - Destrier Leprous - The congregation
8. The studio I rehearse at has an Ampeg 8x10 in all of the rooms excluding one. The other room has a EBS 4x10 and the EBS blew the Ampeg out the water in every aspect. Just sounded louder, clearer, beefier, tighter and many other words ending in 'er'. This was also using a class D amp head. Plenty of oomph! I suppose it depends what you like. I definitely don't go for a 'vintage' type sound.
9. All I can really say is my experience with my 5 string fretted ACG (with flat board). I like it and will no doubt get the same on any other ACG I end up buying.
10. J-rock. Just a really fun genre to play. Despite the miserable face I have on, the song is great fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PxCVEDmumI
11.
Awesome guitars, the ZR tremolo is awesome on these.
that reminds me actually. The tremolo bar is missing (the previous owner lost it) but I think they can be picked up fairly cheap
12. Reviving this as I remembered that there was a guitar in the cupboard that I don't use!
13.
Found it - http://basschat.co.u...o%20bass%20tune Didn't realise it was me that actually started it... But yeah, it's more about the responses!
First time seeing that thread/video. That was really difficult to watch!
14. We use a Zoom Q3 to record all of our rehearsals. It's enough for us to hear each instrument clearly. Can send you over some recordings so you can get an idea of the audio quality if you wish.
15.
Don't sign nuttin!! It's a trap
+1 It's a great bass but not worth that.
16. Polytune mini 2 does the job for me down to low A when needed.
17.
How do I test the water for a trade without breaching forum rules/etiquette, please? Am I right in saying I list my bass and my valuation, and receive offers only by pm?
Yup. Just put on the ad stating you only wish for a trade so you don't get people looking for cash sale.
18.
that looks lovely - I'ld love an ACG - but I like one-wood bodies and simple looking fretboards.
The beauty of a custom order is you can get what you want!

20. Last few gigs I've been to I've been surprised at how little time there was in between bands. To be fair it's been a while since I've saw a "big" band.
21. Sounds really nice! Will this be at Moffat next year? I may fancy a shot...never played a headless short scale!
22.
Marilyn Manson - I was never a fan, but I liked a handful of songs and mostly went for the theatrics. Hideous, slightly stomach-churning. When he slashed himself with a bottle and urged the crowd to spit on his wounds, it was time for me to leave. This was after he had gobbed on his paying fans umpteen times already.
I saw him play not too long ago (last year I think?) in Glasgow and I think he's learned that people don't really want to see that. There were many theatrics but nothing quite as...mental as that. T'was a good show.
23.
I'd love to hear some decent demos of these beautiful basses.
There's quite a few ACG demos on youtube by Colin Cunningham (Coco's Bassment). There's a few other videos on there too I'm sure. I've got one of my Recurve too.
24. Kev's new Alpher bass. Annoying he picked out just about every spec I would want in one of their basses.
25. I use the MXR pedal with my basses which are both fairly high on the output (ACG Uber Spec (9volt) and a Dingwall NG-2 (18volt Darkglass Preamp)). I've never had any issues at all with it.
