1. If you've got a good amp and heavy enough strings, tuning down to A is pretty beastly
2. Interesting thread
3. i WILL own one, some day!
4. If you want mega squashy, just by a Markbass amp and turn it up full
5. Maybe the winning bidder didn't pay up after all? I hope so!
6.
It's only been available for a matter of days so you may have to wait a bit. It's allegedly based on a Boss CS-1.
But my Aguilar is SO MASSIVE
7. Hmm... just noticed they do a teeny weeny compressor! Anybody got their mits on one yet?
8. That Joyo looks incredibly cool!
9. I use index and little finger, but usually put one of two fingers 'behind' my little finger for strength.
10.
However what will be different in each bass will be the compliance of the strings. This is how "stiff" the string feels and is dictated by factors such as string construction and what happens to the string beyond the witness points (bridge and nut).
This! It mostly depends on the angle of the string past the nut, and the bridge. Stringing basses through the body instead of the bridge will result in a much tighter feel.
11.
Hartke. Reason is simple: very very very cheap... But it is either a hit or miss with them. Sometimes the strings are just dead out of the box.
Hartke have very good customer service, if you ever get a dead set you should try contacting them
12.
Don't rule out the Ritter one. I've been very pleased with mine. if you're ever Derby way pop in and have a look.
They do look pretty good, but I like the amount of storage space on the iGig ones, I'd be able to shove my amp and all my leads, tools, spare strings and laptop in my bag then! Also the last Ritter bag I owned fell to pieces after about a year
13. I used one on a gig once and it sounded fine but the low end was a bit weedy. Wouldn't gig without an extension cab!
14.
The iGig is not considerably heavier and I find it very comfortable to wear on my back IMO.
That's really cool to know, I've been looking at their twin bass gig bags online...
15. The iGig ones look LOADS better but they tend to go for about £250
16. Elites got me into stainless steel strings. That was a real game changer for me! I recently switched to D'Addario Prosteels though because they last a bit longer, and I prefer them slightly rougher (otherwise my fingers tend to slip off the strings when sweat comes into play!). I also prefer the look of strings without the silk at either ends
17.
I'll be the one staring at your pedalboard with a cushion in my lap
Take some pics for the w*** bank brother!
18. My soundcard software allows me to alter the pitch of the entire thing up or down as much as 4 steps. much easier than messing around with individual tracks! There MUST be a program one can download which does a similar thing...
19. I've got mine on my pedalboard. It's SO convenient! no changing batteries or messing about with the strap. I just leave it charging until it's time to play, then plug it in my bass and away i go!
20. The Zoom B3 has a couple of effects that go up an octave (maybe two... I don't remember as I don't use octave effects very often). For £150 I'd class it as cheap considering what you get
21. If only I wasn't out gigging dude! Have a good one! The Rigger is a great place to play
22.
Wouldn't there be an issue with the red silk possibly passing the nut ? Sounds kinky.
This made me giggle for way too long
23. I've never seen an SR506 like this before. They all have that browny red colour now. Nice!
24. Looks pretty cool though I have to admit
25. Yep as above. The only benefit of daisy chaining is that you can afford to have a lead 3 foot shorter
