1. Well, my first ever experience with Markbass was with a CMD102p and a 102HF cabinet. It was an insanely loud metal gig,and I had the volume at about 11 o clock on the Master. I'd have had plenty of headroom even without the extension cabinet, which suggests that no matter what genre you're doing, it will be enough!
 2.
In this video, (About 0:40) Vix says you can "Blend up to 6 at a time", does that mean this update may actually be coming? Or am I misunderstanding him?
Thanks for posting this! Excited
 3. Hmm, sounds interesting to say the least! I'm sure we've got a good chance since we brought the most people along to our 'audition', and hey it'll be an experience!
I think it gets a goof turn out. who you playing with?
This is good to know If there's an audience we'll have a good time at least! It'll be with Generations, the metal cover band I'm gigging with a lot at the moment.
 4.
Yeah sorry dude what bass ? I am using Dingwall at the minute but I would think a cheap 6 string will be on the cards first
Always wanted to try a Dingwall! I bet the B on those is thunderous! I'm using a Peavey Grind. Really nice to play on, solid as a rock, and cheap too!
 5. I used to use the Korg Pitchblack and it was great! Sold it when I got the Zoom B3 though as the tuner on that is still more than good enough, and the display is nice and visible
 6.
And this is how the gas starts ,,,,,,what do you play
Yep! Neverending What genre? Or what basses?
 7.
I would guess your GSR is 35" scale anyway though so that shouldn't be a problem for you.
I'm pretty sure the GSR is the entry level version of the SR so would be 34" still (I could be wrong though!)
 8.
Is the GSR viable as a modding platform? I'm ok with replacing pickups and any hardware that's a direct replacement, but anything that would require routing and suchlike I just can't really do. I'm rubbish at that sort of thing, which I've found out to my cost on plenty of guitar parts (got lots of them lying around my flat now). So, for example, are there decent bridges that are a direct swap for this? A better nut? I'm also guessing that this isn't a choice cut of wood that's been used, so it's probably getting into pig in make up territory (it certainly would be on a guitar from this range).
As far as I'm aware the pickups are the same shape/style as the bartolinis in the higher up models so I guess so! Personally I wouldn't bother with replacing the nut and/or bridge, the difference it makes would be negligible in comparison to new pickups, a new preamp... or even something a lot of players miss out... new strings! When I made the swap to stainless steel strings as opposed to nickels, it completely changed everything! And this was way before I started using effects.
 9.
Lol, yup tell me about it ! I have been thinking about going six myself too Just for the sport of it !
Aside from all the controversy surrounding them, they're actually fun to play and make it easier as you'll be moving your fretting hand less! Sometimes people get impressed too I guess
 10.
Don't flatter yourself , you , massive and knob would never be mentioned
Story of my life! Why do you think I play a 6 string?
 11. I agree, the MiBass heads are fantastic! I've always been a bit hit and miss with their heads.. But not this one! The shape puts me off though
 12.
Yeah sorry dude read that a bit fast, it is hard sometimes to pick up on what someone means from a quick one line.
You asked first, instead of diving in and calling me a massive knobhead, so it's cool
 13. This is the same one I have, the 'Gigman'. Awesome case! rock solid and not too cumbersome either. I recommend editing the title of the thread to put that name in it as it's more commonly known by that Good luck with the sale!
 14.
Sorry dude but one liners don't cut it with me, that can be taken so many different ways. Right now I am not sure if your being patronising, it's unclear from one line.
I wasn't taking the piss when I was talking about your band, you look really professional and the songs are performed to a higher standard than most bands! Anything else though? No comment
 15.
Very good at what you do, Yeah cheers .I am pretty sure I never have I am also pretty sure I never said I did.
It's relevant to the thread though, is it not?
 16.
Nothing special, it's a corp/ wedding band. We put in the work and have a lot of fun doing it. This is an old clip, songs are as cheesy as hell but that's the gig ! If you can suffer till about 7:30 it gets a bit more exciting with acdc stuff. Oh and please forgive the call me al bass solo !! If that link doesn't work it's also on our website Www.deja-groove.com
Your band are very good at what you do mate. I don't think any band near to your level would be playing for free, so I'd be surprised if you lost many gigs from it!
 17. Markbass stuff is clean and very smooth, unless you go for the F1, F500, or the 800w ones when they're a bit more upper midrange present.
 18.
http://www.gumtree.c...r506/1001611134
That is an absolute steal at that price. VERY popular basses, everyone from newbies up to professionals use these (I saw Ensiferum in 2010 and their bassist used this exact bass and sounded great!)
 19. Buying a new piece of gear always gives me that little rush and instead of satisfying me makes me want MORE! I need to catch up with my GAS list as it's getting ridiculously expensive
 20.
Also, another noob question; if you're going for a real staccato, tight, percussive metal bass sound, what pickup do you use? Bridge, neck, or both? This is by no means the be all and end all of the bass sound I'm going for, but if I wanted to get this sort of tone, what would you recommend? I'm guessing this is the bridge:
Ahh Soreption, love this band! Sansamp Bass Driver, low action, and a hard right hand attack will get you this sound with pretty much any bass.
 21. Ibanez basses are quite widely used by metal guys, and the normal Soundgear ones will sound a million times better than the entry level GSR models. If you like the way they feel I'd recommend looking at those ones first! Personally, they don't work for me... I'm more of a Peavey man! They also feel very comfortable to play, and I prefer the sound! About the pickups... Two of my Peaveys have the stock pickups in and I bought them used for £50 and £100 respectively. I won't be changing them any time soon! The 6 string cost me £250 used, and has been 'upgraded' to Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups... which sound amazing... But I actually prefer the smoother sound of the original ones so I might put them back in! Those are my two suggestions anyways You could always just get a new preamp or pickups for the GSR if you wanna save money though!
 22. Never seen one of these before... That is seriously cool!
 23.
http://www.tradetang...80-2460644.html
Apart from the paint job, this is a VERY convincing copy!
 24. Here you go fly, you'll need this
 25. I've always loved playing my 4 string. It is what I learnt to play on so will always feel like 'home'. DIfferent basses, particularly with different numbers of strings always bring out a different feel for me so I could never stick to just one. Even though I would say my 6 is my main bass, any excuse I get to play the 4 I take it!
