Does Johnny Shredfreak not make power supplies any more? I got mine for like £12, and picked up a daisy chain and a long figure 8 power cable for another few quid

Nobody ever really notices, but you can make them move/dance/listen differently if you're creative enough with your rhythms

I'm really tempted by these recently... Do they have that updated built in limiter that was supposed to go in the LMIII? I've been really annoyed with my F1 recently, it's an amazing amp but since I've been getting stronger I've been brickwalling it constantly which really spoils my sound. Last gig I played I went DI from pedalboard and was the best sound i EVER had ... Anyway i'm rambling... I would go for something fairly simple, but I'd try a tube pre, and have a SS pre spare in my bag in case i get clumsy and break the preamp valve

So, I just did an audition for this thing with the cover band the other day. Out of the 5 bands on I'm pretty confident that we got the best response from the judges... But that's not what this post is really about! Just interested in knowing what it's like really! Any good? Worth sticking around to enjoy the event after playing? Will we end up playing a blinding set of about 25 minutes to three men and a dog???

With the majority of the songs I play very close to the original, especially the Cliff Burton basslines! I usually improvise a tiny bit on mellow sections like the interlude in Master Of Puppets though with a bit of a chorus effect (nothing distasteful though!) Some tracks I feel the bass could offer a little more in locking the drums as guitar together, and grooving, rather than just playing root notes on the 1st and 2nd beats... So I do alter them a bit. Partly to improve the overall sound and feel, partly so that I don't get bored (and that I don't look rubbish/lazy )

I've got an F1 and 104HF at 8 ohms. On most gigs the volume is much less than halfway up and I never have trouble hearing myself!

What a pile of sh*t.

It's to do with the break angle. If there's a sharper angle at the nut, and/or the bridge, the strings will have less compliance... Basically they will feel tighter, more secure, without an increase in actual tension

I'd say a mostly clean tone, maybe with some mild overdrive. Geezer Butler uses a bit of fuzz and wah on occasion too!
