1. The logo needs to be much much bigger, then I would get one
2. Hartke stuff is awesome, my first borrowed bass amp was a 1x12 kickback combo and if you stood in front of it it really did kick you in the back!
3.
New stuff? I don't. Old stuff? I do. Improvised stuff? I do and I don't.
Couldn't possibly put it any better!
4. Sounds like a good deal considering the cost of rehearsal studios! Playing gigs there regularly will get you a following too so you might get more workout of it!
5.
How come everyone here loves the B3 and think its really good while the demo vids on youtube of this multifx (including the official zoom vid) all sound like crap? I would like to testdrive a B3 since you're all so positive but none of the shops here seems to have them in stock... Not willing to take the plunge and ordering online on this one.
I'm guessing most of the demos are done with the presets, which admittedly aren't very good. Once you start creating your own patches that's when the real magic happens! The only type of effect which hasn't really impressed me so far is the distortion/drive effects but some have found them acceptable. Seriously, for the price it's hard to beat! You would struggle get a decent Chorus, compressor, and a DI box for under £150 and this comes with all that and more!
6. Interesting. It makes you listen to the vocal line in a completely different way!
7. My 5 piece metal cover band is less than a year old. We havent got our own PA or sound tech. We did our first gig free, second one for £50, and now we ask for £200, but will settle for £150. If its a charity do we obviously do it for free but at the last one we did we got free food and drink in return
8. Wow these have increased in value a bit this year! Too right too, they're fantastic basses!
9.
there is a possibility that there were some guitars put together from a mish mash of remaining parts when the original factory closed in 1992 after Jack Golder died.....a year after Leo Fender.
That's really interesting, I bet there are some real oddities about!
10. If tuning lower, youd want to marginally loosen the truss rod to have the same slight curve in the neck that you're used to. With regards to fret noise, a lot of players actually make that part of their sound... I do! And I play a bit harder to make it more consistent. If you genuinely want to avoid it though, your options are to raise the action at the bridge, or to practice a softer plucking technique.
11.
Can you see the screens well enough at gigs? Its difficult to see how big and how clear they are
The screens are probably about an inch and a half wide, plenty big enough! They're hard to see in daylight unless you get very close (like trying to read a digital watch with the sun shining on it) but its never caused me any significant problems. Clear as anything at your average venue. And the tuner is very very visible!
12. I like to do a combination of left and right hand muting, with some compression which seems to clean things up well enough for the mix. It's not a perfect model but I'm more or less content with the results If you listen to a lot of isolated bass tracks or solo playing youll notice that it's extremely rare for even the most accomplished of players to perform without getting a bit of noise here and there. Players like John Myung seem to make it part of their sound and even set up their tone to accentuate these noises. Though I'm sure as you practice more and more you'll get closer to the style and sound you want
13. Wow thanks for all the input guys! I'll pass it all on. Ian, I'll ask the dude if he's got a serial number too!
14.
dude what gauges are the six string sets ? Kindest regards ziggy
I can't believe I never put the gauges in my original post! 30 - 45 - 65 - 85 - 105 - 130
15. I hated Warwicks for years... Really want one now! They must have been cool for a while if I've managed to catch on
16. I have a Sansamp and a Zoom B3. The real thing (and the Behringer not so real thing) do actually sound better than the Sansamp emulation on the Zoom when it comes to turning the Gain up... But if you don't use the gain much youll be unlikely to notice enough of a difference to let it bother ya Great pieces of kit anyways
17. I play with dynamics... I either play hard or REALLY f***ing HARD
18. A sound with lots of attack will actually make any slightly off notes stick out more! Unless you scoop out mods of the mids that is ...
19. The Warwick Reds are now sold to that lovely bloke Everything else in the OP is still available
20. MDP would do it for you
21. Damn that looks sexy...
22.
i`ll take the Warwick 5 string set, if you still have them, pm me your details and i`ll sort out the payment. cheers.
Sorry for the mega late reply dude, I haven't been on in a little while. PM on the way if you still want em
23. People are often strongly opposed to scooping the mids of your bass tone... But the reality is that most metal guitarists nowadays have discovered that frequency range. I scoop my mids a little and fit in the mix perfectly every time!
