This thread needs more pics! I would contribute, but I only play Peaveys

Hey! Most of these things you mentioned will completely come with practice You find yourself automatically using whatever finger is easiest to play notes on different strings... Don't worry about doing purely alternate picking, if you're moving from the A to the E string you can use the same finger for both. I also get the sharp snapping sound when playing, it's become part of my sound/technique now because it feels good, and is fun to play like that, and makes my playing stand out (i hope!). I can get a soft, warm fingerstyle sound if I play carefully, but only if i'm not playing fast! You have to kind of stroke your finger along the string instead of 'hitting' it with your fingers like I do. Personally I rest my thumb on the neck pickup, or on the string below whichever one i'm playing (which also prevents the lower strings from sounding if i touch them accidentally). Some players will also rest their thumb on the top of the neck, or even use the 'floating thumb technique'. I don't use it myself so you might want to do a bit of research on it. Coordination is just something that comes with practice. The more you play, the more your fingers get used to the movement and it will just come naturally with no thought whatsoever eventually! This is mostly just info based on what works/has worked for me, but I hope it helps!
You see, the problem is, everyone in Britain still thinks the Germans have no sense of humour. He's on a one-man mission to change zee vay zee Englanders dink. In my case, I must admit, he has succeeded.
I think you're onto something there dude! A very serious approach to comedy.. Very much inkeeping with the German stereotype, but still hilarious

Northampton is my hometown, so if there was one down that way I'd hope to be able to make a weekend of it and spend a little time seeing old friends and family too!
Who is Mark D Phillips ??
Master guitar bodger extraordinaire... Or whatever he calls himself this week

It's nice to hear a rock album where the bass is clearly audible It's a bit more erm... cheerful than I normally listen to, but it's really quite good! The singer doesn't seem to come across so great in a few tracks, but he really shines on The Chosen Ones Great basslines too! (nice job 3V17C )
How about getting Mark D Phillips to write some articles on bass set-up and repair..........
I would buy my first ever issue if this happened

If I could play even half of the lines or melodies that randomly appear in my head I'd probably decide I no longer need to practice
unless they want to keep the B3 limited to make the MS more inviting.
Maybe I still want them to bring out a B3X with 6 effects and an expression pedal all built in though! As much as the MS looks awesome there's no expression pedal jack
Latest update for the G3 allows this so surely must be in the offing for the B3...
I see no reason why they wouldn't, however they keep saying they have no plans to... Hopefully they're just saying that to stop potential buyers from waiting until said update? Usually the bass stuff comes out 12 - 18 months after the guitar stuff so we might be waiting until this time next year for an update if it's coming!
The write up suggests six effects at once and the ability to fast toggle between three patches each containing six effects in any order.
No way that's amazing!

I saw this a while ago, among a few others that look similar. I wonder if this is going to be to the Line 6 M5 what the Zoom B3 is to the Line M9 (ie: the same thing but just one effect at a time)

Dunno how loud you wanna go, but I found a Marshall B25 MkII a few years ago for £20 and it's been great for having a quick play when I can't be bothered to get everything set up. Sounds pretty nice, and as long as you don't want to play with a drummer you're good to go. Got a headphone out too!

The stageclix jack is the most convenient one out there, as long as you have a passive bass (if not you'll need the pack instead). I have the receiver on my pedalboard, and the transmitter plugs into it to charge. So no carrying extra boxes, and no chance of forgetting it unless I forget my entire board!

Have a look at this one it's £20 cheaper than the Warwick ones http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/7x-Guitar-Rack-Stand/J55
Yep, just edited, as still getting to grips with the amps controls - it`s the VLE completely off, and the VPF on full. Yes it does scoop the mids, but playing in punk bands with Gibson type distorted guitars, and using a Precision with year-old Roto rounds, I want a bass presence, but don`t want the whole spectrum of the band to be middied-out. I prefer the bass to be a supporting instrument, providing a foundation with the drums, on which the guitars sit nicely. Still gets a great warm bass, with each note being clear, played In The City the other night, and as soon as the bass kicked in, the audience gave a cheer.
Interesting! Before I used pedals I had my VPF around 2 o clock and the VLE around 9 o clock and thought it did a pretty good Ampeg impression, bit sparklier and cleaner though! -
you won't see cheap basses with string-through bridges
Unless its a Peavey EDIT: or a Sue Ryder!

VLE (vintage loudspeaker emulator) is the one that introduces a high roll off, the more you turn it off the wider the frequency range it affects VPF (variable preshape filter) is the mid scoopy one. It's unclear whether it boosts lows and highs aswell as even the guys at Markbass disagree on that! -

All of my basses have the option of doing it both ways so I can confirm it does make a difference to the feel of the strings. I can't remember if there's a difference in tone or sustain. The fact that I don't remember suggests that there isn't much if at all
