1. I have the bridge cover on my lookalikee, I quiet like it. It reminds me of Sir Horace Gentlemans P Bass. It is a pain in the butt when playing with a pick though as it gets in the way. I was gonna get a pickup cover too but thought better of it!!
2. I have played about 8 of those tunes at the local British Legion, although I dont know the original bass parts, I invent my own. Most of them are II - V- I progressions or a variation on it.
3. Good question! with 3 answers - 45 - 100 on the Jazz Bass 45 - 105 on the Precision 40 - 100 on the Stingray for slappety thwackety fun!!
4.
Where are you based mate? Theres an American online store that do them really cheap, I need to get some more soon. Maybe we could split postage? If you decide to give them a go of course...
Its alright mate, I'm sorted now, I was just a bit dubious of buying them after reading this
5.
That was the obvious thing to me. One of his bits of feedback (Google-)translates as "Beware of rip-offs, is a clumsy piece of assembler not original", so I guess it's not his first go at this sort of thing.
He does change his mind though!..".Ambiguity resolved, Seller reliable and recommended. very correct"
6. Has anyone had any experience with these strings?? - I normally use Elites, but I fancied a change and there was a good deal on amazon so I er...!
7. Not sure about the pickguard, Maybe just black would look better on the blue body
8. This is a nice looker, any idea what it is? (Japanese, Korean etc?) or the age roughly? Might be a nice back up bass for someone. 9. I am currently reading 'The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions' by Mark Lewisohn. Basically its a day to day diary of their sessions at Abbey Road studios back in the '60,s. There is an entry from the White Album sessions where they are recording a track called 'Savoy Truffle' And they recorded a powerful brass section for it, and then they distorted it. The engineers where horrified! - nothing like that had ever been done before, but its what The Beatles wanted!!
10. You,ll probably find that they are 45-105 gauge, they are the most common (standard) strings supplied on new guitars.

12. This reminds me of an old thread where the guitarist asks to have a go on your bass, and promptly picks it up and starts widdling a solo up the neck, gets bored and hands it back to you, as he has no idea how to play the bass guitar properly!
13. Here is one at a more reasonable price
14. My guitarist thought he would double up with me on the bass intro to 'Keep On Running' with full on fuzz and it sounded awful but he thought it was excellent! - So then I just played 'Bomp Bomp Bomp Bomp' on the bass and the other band members said to me "Why dont you play the correct bassline anymore?" and I said "Well we both cant play the same thing" to which they told him "Dont do that, it sounds sh*t!" Surprisingly he dont do it anymore!

Where those original bridge covers there to mute the strings? (Stingray)? Or purely for decoration? There's no rubber or foam under mine.
16. I wouldnt use capital letters if I were you, it might upset someone! Oh! and welcome BTW

I was thinking about a pickup cover for this, I think I might go the whole vintage look, what do you think??
18. Budgie? Was he the drummer with Siouxsie & The Banshhees??
19. Possibly 'Something' by The Beatles - not because its hard to play, buts because its hard to sing and play that bassline!
20.
My main bass is an '82 Westone Thunder 1.
My first "proper bass". back in early 1983 I think. I learned Funeral Pyre by The Jam on it!!

22.
Who is Billy Boy?
Bill Wyman?
23. If the drummer is good, then he will give you the courage to groove, and also give you an idea of what to play (Unless of course they tell you to play what they want!)
