909 is on our covers set list and that's nothing like the original bass line - which is not necessarily a bad thing of course, but I'm just saying.

I cant listen to that Beatles version, the bass is so out of tune its embarrassing!
Theres a little high bass riff on Freebird which I have trouble with, its right up there on the 20th fret and I always end up running out of fretboard and ending up with a 'clonk!'
Check out Glenn Tibrook on bass, he doesnt do a bad job considering he's not really a bass player

Was he having a joke? This was an April fool trick by the old Radio Luxembourg when they asked all their listeners to shout into their radio speakers and they'd record the signal at their end.
If the speaker thing actually gives a signal worth amplifying I'm not sure it would be worth listening to when you think how much it differs from even a poor quality microphone. Of course I could be wrong but...

Yes it is true, Its in this book of Beatle factoids

I recently auditioned (and got the job) as a bassist in a Blues/Rock band.
Had a rehearsal the other night and jammed a version of Red House.
The first guitarist soloed away for a bit, and then played rhythm while thesecond bod had a go.
I couldnt believe my ears when they asked me to do a bass solo!
After fumbling about for a bit in the upper regions of an E major scale they seemed quite happy.
I hope its not going to be a regular thing!!
I was watching this lot on my LWJH DVD last night, when I noticed that not only were there TWO bassists, the girl on six string guitar was playing the bassline too!

If we dont get any claps at the end of a number, I usually say something like 'Please dont clap, it makes us nervous!'
We sometimes get a chuckle at least!

Exactly. There used to be a lot more special show offers in the past, when the then "London Guitar Show" (IIRC) was held every year at Wembley. I guess the recession is biting hard.

I bought a guitar stand from there It was a load of rubbish and fell to bits within a week!
