1. If I put it in the wrong place I,m sorry!

3. My first ever bass was a satellite short scale, terrible thing. I kept it for years after I got proficient on the instrument. I used to use it when we done an encore, Funeral Pyre by The Jam, where at the end of the song where the drummer goes mad, I took it it off and threw it across the stage while still plugged in causing a massive noise!!
4.
I like MSP, and think that Nicky Wires bass-playing is fine, as it doesn`t get in the way of the vocals and guitars. His stage-leaping, as mentioned, however, I think is rather daft.
Alex James from Blur has some interesting stage leaping going on, but at least plays some interesting lines.
5. Agreed, but instead of jumping about on stage, leaving the frontman do do all the work annoyed me
6. Just watching a Jools Holland DVD with the MSP singing 'If you Tolerate This' and the most boring bass player in the world, root note plodder Nicky Wire was more interested in leaping about like a sheep on heat; and looking cool, leaving old James Dean Bradfield to sing - and do a guitar solo!! In my head, I worked out a nice bassline that would work in 5 minutes!
7. Heres the chords http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/s/shakin_stevens/merry_christmas_everyone_crd.htm Bass part not too taxing, just root 5th patterns IIRC
8. He must spend as much time practising as he does trimming his beard!
9. I was the same way till I learnt some basic scales. You,ll be surprised how it will fall into place. Listen to a lot of the music you like, and learn a basic minor/major scale and see how it fits together.
10. VM Jazz? I use one as a backup to my P Bass or my EBMM Stingray. Luckily I had it too, because I,ve had a string go on me once and a tuning peg snap whilst tuning between songs!!!
11. I have a set of flatwounds on my Squier VM Jazz Bass, The guy is talking rubbish, listen to Noel Reddings work with Jimi Hendrix, or John Paul Jones with Zeppelin, all done on a Fender Jazz with flats - and what a sound!!
12. I may take a look at this if it comes out in ipad version
13. Old Noddy has a go on bass for this one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pPL9PPy1MI
14. Funny isnt it? I much prefer the tone of a Precision to that of my jazz or a stingray
15. I sing harmonies on most of our set, We do 'When You Walk In The Room, and I sing the same lyrics as the lead singer just a third above. This is great for him as he always forgets the words. This is not always a good thing though, as I sing lead on a few numbers too, and last week I sang 'Brown Eyed Girl' the whole song a third above! Try as I might, I couldnt get my voice back on key! force of habit!!
16. My first proper bass amp was a Vox Escort 50 watt combo I got off me mums Littlewoods catalogue
17.
To everyone who suggested the Gallery, the OP did insist on a 'customer-friendly' shop...
Are you referring to the security buzzer and general fort knox appearance?
18. Whatever you do, steer clear of Denmark Street unless you want to be ripped off!!
19. Good luck with that! I,m in a similar situation, rehearsing with two guitars and a drummer and coming along quite well. We havent had much luck with a singer though, it may be that we will sing ourselves and sod the singer. We can all sing a bit, but not well enough to be a good front man.
20. Cant see it too well, looks like it could be a mustang shortscale bass.
21.
Buckley began playing guitar at the age of five after discovering an acoustic guitar in his grandmother's closet
Rubbish! everybody knows that it was in his uncles loft!!
22.
What have I inherited from my old man? Well I never worry if I lock myself out. We'll leave it at that.
A tent?
23. My mother played the guitar (acoustic) and my grandmother played the piano, but if music is hereditry, then I,m the only one one who has inherited it! All my siblings and Hobbayne juinior have no musical ability, although they enjoy listening to music.
