  1. Black and Tort, always a classy combo. Glad to hear it plays as good as it looks.
  2. I used to have a MXR Micro Flanger, lovely thing, but it gave up after a year or two of me owning it and that's when my guitarist buddy gave me his BF-2.
  3. It was a pressie from a friend, so can't be sold. Doesn't stop the GAS tho 😄
  4. Damn you.....I thought I was happy with my BF-2 until you said that.
  5. LIve by interocitor ! Like that a lot.
  6. BIg fan of the style, not of the label. Let's have some Neu! whilst we think about it.
  7. Boss BF-2 is also what I use, again towards the end of the effects chain, deffo after any overdrivey, distorty stuff,
  8. Sounds good to me. Nice strong tone all the way through.
  9. Sold Gary a John East Musicman EQ. Great to deal with, good communication, fast payment. Smooth as silk.
  10. Utah Saints !
  11. Yes, my GP12SMX 250 only has a heatsink
  12. Each to their own. I use the grey Dunlop 0.88 ones. I find heavier ones tough to use.
  13. Yeah, but buy it in a shop, don't have it delivered.
  14. One of the two competitions I've won in my life entailed naming the lead singer of The Only Ones. It was multiple choice and the answer was elsewhere in the magazine, but I'm still intensely proud.
  15. Saw what you did there...
  16. Good for you for not palming it off onto someone else. I really hope you get some kind of satisfaction.
  17. And it looks the same upside down.
  18. Excellent, thanks for the info.
  19. That's good news, any idea when it's going to be available. I need a change from Talking Pictures TV
  20. I think it's fair to say you don't see many of these around any more, Trace Elliot's flagship all valve preamp, based on an Alembic design - it really is the bees knees when it comes to valve preamps. It sounds, as you can imagine, fantastic. It's in great condition, the worst thing about it as the somewhat cammed-out screws that hold the top cover on, but they work fine, they're just not very pretty. Some scratches on the top from being rack-mounted, but the fascia is in great nick. One unusual thing - it has two transformers, whereas I believe they we built originally with one. I have no idea why, but it works fine and has no noise issues. I can only assume it's been repaired at some point in the past. I bought it second hand and only found out about the extra transformer when I replaced the valves. It currently is fitted with EHX Gold 12AX7s which sound lovely. . Plenty of pictures below, but if you want any more, please get in touch. This is COLLECTION ONLY from my house in Tottenham. I will of course let you check it works OK, in an appropriate COVID-aware manner and part of you agreeing to buy it is that you abide by my rules for this. I will insist on masks, social distancing and so on. Thanks for looking.
  21. Wasn't implying you considered Mr. Winwood a muso (Old Meaning). I've seen it used a few times here and thought that who was better to clarify the matter than your good self, your finger so often on the pulse of the happening heart of Basschat. I'm left wondering, however, what the new term for 'muso' is ?
  22. Class stuff ! BTW does 'muso' just mean 'musician' these days ? It used to be somewhat pejorative when I first encountered it.
  23. For $1400, Isn't it cheaper to just buy a bass when you get there ?
  24. It will always depend on what kind of gigs you do, what kind of set-up you like and how much money you have to spend. If you're a amateur playing the odd gig here and there you're going to have a different approach to a pro who plays big, well-organised gigs. There's never been a one-size-fits-all solution to how you get heard, modelling amps, FRFR, IEMs, etc. are unlikely to change that.
