1. OK condition, a few dinks and marks on the body, the worst few I've photographed. The main things for mention are: > The the chip and slight crack around the bottom neck pocket which I've tried to capture but didn't turn out too well. These were there when I got the bass a few years back and it's never suffered from any problems during gigging so I'm convinced the crack is just in the lacquer. >Tiny hairline cracks at the top of the neck pocket, no way I could photograph them, but as above I'm sure they're just in the lacquer. I mention them for completeness. > The control plate is now finished in finest black Hammerite as it was very corroded when I got it. The Hammerite's been baked between coats so it's solid and is (even if I say so myself) a very tidy job. Bridge and pickups are stock and I wired the loom myself. The metalwork's a little, um..road-worn, as are the screws, but you can always the rub the mojo off if you like...up to you Any questions or specific pics, please ask. More photos here Neck pocket is 63mm - I've had two CV necks in there, both steady as a rock. £90 Bank Transfer. UK mainland only.
2.
...sparkliest and most difficult to photograph with a moblie phone it's ever been
Disco stealth ? I love the JC bass, but the blue doesn't do it for me....mind you, I like the silverburst which I know is a bit marmite for some.
3.
Weight. Thats what I am taking about, when I started playing back in the late 1970s (yep, really am that ancient) bass stacks were big and heavy. We had two transits to lug around our equipment, the PA alone took two men just to move each cab, and there were six of them. My amp was a 4 x 10 Trace Elliot combo, at the time relatively small compared to other people 8 x 12 Marshall stacks, but it was still heavy. Very heavy, I know because until last month I still owned it. Until recent;y i had never even considered the weight of a Bass, it was what it was, yet now I keep seeing 'how much does it weigh' in replies to adverts - OK, i am sure there are some people who have back / medical issues, but not that many surely! Same with equipment, number if times I have seen people with small lightweight cabs kidding themselves that that 8mm chipboard ply is going to produce the same sound as 15mm marine plywood is amazing. Go and try and lift up a professional full range B&W studio monitor, or even a high end home hifi, its massively heavy and there is a reason for that. So, whats with the weight thing, have we all become wimps
De-caff ?
4. Superfluous
5.
so why do pedal manufacturers put so much effort into developing stereo pedals?
I've tried telling them that nobody uses stereo, but it's just in one ear and out the other. no ? maybe ?
6. It's a little like the Fender 'Cowpoke' Precision Special in a way - that had Kubiki-designed electronics and the body shape's not dissimilar to my eyes Like this'n
7.
My catch phrase is fast becoming "I work on them much better than I play them".
Has anyone ever said to you, "Twincam, you don't deserve this instrument, it makes no sense you owning it - I do hope you're fixing it for a friend" ? Go easy on yourself. This kind of self-doubt is my bugbear too so I know where you're coming from. Try not to decide what people are thinking of you for, you're rarely right. Oh, and it's true - a simple playing style is great...chops and flash are one thing, but they're not everything, not by a long chalk.
8. That looks awesome and I bet it sounds every bit as good.
9. Has to be done folks...
10. Anyone for a
I'm sure there was a thread on here about practice/ home studio spaces, but I can't find it. Anyway, after a tidy up and moving some shelving around this is where the music is made in our house!
Nice, but too tidy....get some cables on the floor, some magazines, cup of tea with something weird floating in it.
11. Oh come on...9 posts and no 'Is it any good for metal' ?
12.
Ha! So YOU say. I bet she gave you the horn. Fnarr! Fnarr!
Oh very good.
13.
Christ, that must have been some psychedelic band to have a cornet player in it! The only cornet player I've ever worked with was a 20-stone bald bloke. I don't much like the idea of saying I shagged him just to get fired...
The band wasn't that psych, just the band members ! The cornet player in question was a lady in my case, but I didn't do no dirty with her.
14.
I've never been fired from a band. Obviously I'm not trying hard enough.
Start a rumour that you're shagging the cornet player in a band where handfuls of psychedelics are viewed as a acceptable breakfast Worked for me !
15. Basses are nice, buy as many as you like and can afford.
16. Never been fired, or I may have been fired once, but the band split up about 15 mins later so I don't really count that. It was more a matter of who got shoved off the burning plane first.
17. I've got Kent Armstrongs in my Tele, I know they're not top-end but they sound lovely. I've always been pretty impressed with their bass offerings too.
18. The transformer's the most likely culprit. Sadly it's just supported by the PCB, not screwed to the chassis. I love mine, despite its hisses and buzzes. It's too old to gig now as the board is starting to fail but it's given me many a happy hour of bass over the years.
19. Any clues on the back panel ?
20. Very nice indeed. A good day's hunting, I'd say.
21.
This always makes me chuckle https://youtu.be/UHS3ci9H_Uc
Not seen that before
22. Excellent news, look forward to seeing the booty.
23.
[the video is] a bit lazy... copy a much loved children's classic and subvert it with a much loved horror classic
I thought so too I used to really like Radiohead but I think my tastes and their music parted company somewhere after Kid A.
24.

How's it all going ?
25. Shhhhhhh...he's here, he's here ! Everybody hide, shhhhh, listen...everybody hide...and then we'll all jump out and shout 'Boo !' It'll be ace
