Basses are nice, buy as many as you like and can afford.

Never been fired, or I may have been fired once, but the band split up about 15 mins later so I don't really count that. It was more a matter of who got shoved off the burning plane first.

I've got Kent Armstrongs in my Tele, I know they're not top-end but they sound lovely. I've always been pretty impressed with their bass offerings too.

The transformer's the most likely culprit. Sadly it's just supported by the PCB, not screwed to the chassis. I love mine, despite its hisses and buzzes. It's too old to gig now as the board is starting to fail but it's given me many a happy hour of bass over the years.

Any clues on the back panel ?
